HD Install
HD full install works fine. Able to install in EXT4 partition which wasn't possible with 508 and 506 beta. Network wizard, sound, multimedia all are working fine. Nvidia driver installed flawlessly. ~/.fonts.conf needed a correction for TFT monitor (1440x900). Once done, the fonts looked good in Fir...

In firefox 3.5, we can use Image Assistant Addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/790 and create a symlink, as described by the author. It works beautifully in Puppy 4.31. Have tested in NOP 4.31 too. viewnior works wonderfully well within the browser. There is a pet package available ...

Hi TazOC, Wonderful puplet. Tested with Base iso: HD install in ext4 is failing, though with ext2 it works. rt73usb wireless card with wpa not working. Needed to use ndiswrapper. Nvidia drivers pet (185.18.36) don't install and had to use the nvidia installer ( using devx and kernel sfs). With marin...

Hi Sinc, When we install ubuntu, it doesn't give us an easy option of where we want to install the grub. Also, it ls little confusing to me. I just used the supergrub cd, removed grub installed in ubuntu. Did a hard disk install of puppy 430 (ext4 part..) and installed the grub with puppy cd. Then, ...

Hi MU, Thanks for your reply. There was no problem however, installing NVIDIA drivers in puppy 4.3 Beta 2 (Puppy 424 ). Except in the end it cried for some dependencies and depmod -a solved that issue. Latest Nvidia driver is installed and working flawlessly in AMD64 machine with HD install ext4. Ne...

include a full set of 32bit libraries. * Puppy/T2/Fatdog puts all the Xorg stuff in /usr/X11R7. Most do not do this anymore. ATI has problems with this, but Nvidia has not in the past. * Maybe the latest Nvidia driver doesn't support Xorg 7.3 or 2.6.28 (though the readme says it does). You might try...

Hi Kirk, I tried installing latest Nvidia 64bit driver (185.18.36) with its installer, it is crying too many missing or wrong libraries, the installer stops now and then and once I press OK, it continues, but again, finally installs totally depreciated driver, which fails to get loaded, the NVIDIA m...

installing packages from T2 repository - Fatdog2 32bit Beta2
Hi Kirk,
With the HD install, I could install some of the standalone packages from T2 repos. with little dpendencies, however, it is still a pain to install things like compiz which has many dependencies. Would you advise, I wait, till the final version is released?
Thanks
garcot

Thanks kirk. Extracting the SFS and using the swap-tools did the trick. Infact the pc is a AMD 64bit machine. I will agree with you Kirk. It is very very much faster than Jaunty in every aspect. Accessing of files, multimedia player or any other tools in the various menu is just too fast compared to...

Did a full HD install and very stable and very fast with ext4 partition. But unable to compile and install the Nvidia drivers with the Nvidia installer for my Geforce 6150 nforce 430 nvidia graphic chip using the devx sfs file. It continues to say some library files (ld and libutils) are either miss...

I did a full install of puppy 4.21, converted Gnome_xxx_xxx.sfs to gnome.pet, followed rest of the i instructions ditto (installing all the required .pets including gnome pet) from the other post of WoW on how to create a Gnome puppy. It is very sta...
