I've already smashed all three of my puppy CDs, but I came back to ask the mods to rename the topic because it's wildly inappropriate. But after reading a few of your responses... I dunno, thanks guys, really... I have a couple of other posts that I need to edit. I guess I had just got it into my he...

Puppy's IRC channel worse than useless
>Well, now that he told me how, somebody already did it for me. ... And a little more imaginative that I would have come up with myself. Maybe all is not lost. F*** you all! I am sick of being treated like sh*t when I go to your irc channel. If this is the way you treat new users, then you can just ...

Logitech Cordless Keyboard
I have a Logitech S-510 cordless keyboard, but I can't get any of the extra buttons to work. Logitech was no help to me at all for linux drivers, and I can't find ANY linux drivers for anything anywhere. Does linux use drivers? How do I add hardware?

The volume control appears when I switch to JWM, so it's an IceWM problem. So far, the only way I can get it to show up is if I run icewmtray and absvolume from a terminal window, but I just can't get it to do it by itself and it's gone when I close the terminal. I tried editing /root/icewm/startup ...

I'm using it as a Live CD. When I installed, it asked me if I wanted frugal or full. I chose frugal. Basically, I'm using the CDs to boot because I don't want to mess with the MBR on my hard drive. Without a CD, it still tries to boot Windows. Puppy's main .sfs files have been copied to /mnt/home (s...

How to install .pet.gz packages?
I've tried 2 puppy derivatives so far. The .pet packages install just fine, but I can't figure out how to install all these .pet.gz packages I keep downloading. Here's a description of what I've tried: Clicking on the file opens up XArchiver, and inside the .pet.gz, it lists a .pet file with a size ...

I got the .pet files to install, so nvm. Does anyone know how to put a volume control on the taskbar? And where are the icons to switch between multiple desktops? Also, I noticed that when I r-click on an icon, the menu item that lets me run it in a terminal window is gone. Is there a way to put tha...

Can't open .deb files
Linux noob, please help. I can extract .deb archives in Windows, but not in Puppy. When I click on a .deb package in ROX-Filer, Xarchiver says: Can't run the archiver executable: Failed to execute child process "ar" (No such file or directory) I believe it's telling the truth; I can't find...
