Mouse mid-button emulation on pup430

I am trying out a Dell Latitude D610 Laptop. It has a touchpad + miniature joystick + 2 sets (upper & lower) of left & right mouse-buttons - but no middle button. The menu/Setup/Mouse-keyboard Wizard has an option to emulate a middle mouse-button on a 2-button mouse - but how do I use it?? N...

Open /etc/profile in a text editor and search for PS1 (PS(one))
it will be something like --
PS1="# "

If you want it to display the folder-name from which you opened the terminal change it to --
PS1="\w# "

There are loads of other options but I can't remember them now :oops:

Pup430 - Need to enable pcmcia wifi on Acer Aspire 5050

My ACER Aspire 5050 laptop has a built-in wifi card which isn't working too well but still registers as a wlan0 for pup430's connectwizard. I can remove & blacklist it - but then I can't get pup430 to recognize my plug-in pcmcia linksys WPC54G card - it looks like the pcmcia socket is dead - no ...

I must admit I have not tried the pup Bootflash but I have successfully used the Universal installer to make bootable USBs from many makes. I noticed that over half of my usb flash drives did not come as ready-bootable devices so the default mbr selection (do nothing) gave me unbootable drives. I no...

Another solution if you have a frugal installation is to install the jre as usual then move the big java files from /usr to mnt/home & then replace the original usr/java file with a symlink back to the files in mnt/home. This is especially effective if you have many pup versions going at the sam...
