ok is this good?
OK. Today I opened up the ancient monstrosity. This was a beats of a job to do. But anyway, I found the RAM slot and put in one of the two RAM cards that PuppyT was kind enough to post me. Now when I look up system info it says 91 MB memory, 28 MB used. It doesn't say this is RAM but I gather that ...

Twitter can go tweet tweet itself. It's only useful for plants who can tweet "water me". For humans it's a twatzone.

absolutely
There is no doubt in my mind that Iran is trying to get nukes. A couple of points about nukes: [1] Getting the nuclear material is the easiest part; there's stacks on the black market, especially discards from the Soviet break up. The hard part is getting a working, accurate launching device ...

How's this?
I have a tabby cat. There is a program called "Fishcam" that comes on from time to time - a filler with fish in an aquarium. Once I had it on the TV and the tabby was in the room. Next thing I know she goes right up to the screen and claws at the "moving fish"!!!! She goes at like a mad cat for 5 ...

cotton daks?
There is only one answer: superman-style undies on the outside as you save the world from electric charge  I have reached a bit of a dead end with getting the computer to connect to the net. The modem works. Puppy recognises it and even adds a driver :) But then it won't connect to the net ...

I just added ruby on rails to my skillset! Today I set up mysql and ruby/rubygems to a web localhost for web development. It wasn't easy to nut it out. But I managed it.

that's great!
Even if I could get it to 128 MB RAM even that would be an improvement.
As I said in the PM I am so new to this - I have no experience or qulaifcations in computer repair. I suppose all that I could offer in exchange is for you to pick my brains. I am studying graphics design and some programing.

what's a good programming skillset?
BTW I am writing this on my kbuntu 9.04 box :) I never got into programming at school. In fact I was put off programming for life by very crummy classes in basic. But since late 2007 I have started getting into programming a lot. I am studying a cert of .NET through O'Reilly Media. It involves OOP ...

PuppyT that's fine. If you can't find anything that would work with my ancient machine then that is not so surprising!
When my sister gave me it last week to save space in her flat, I expected that I wouldn't succeed in turning it on. I've already got way further than I thought I would.

this might help
A free CD burner is imgburn. That's what I use. It is really intuitive; I have never read the help documents and don't need to. The interface uses pictures that you push to make your choices.
