Cimh, what happens if you move the sfs file to the root and get rid of psubdir? Exactly the same: first I get .. loading files needed to access the drives.... then in red something like pup-431.sfs not found. strange because as far as I can see the file is there. Just in case I have also changed th...

Start with kernel /puppy431/vmlinuz psubdir=puppy431 Jemimah - many thanks - I tried that but still no luck. Then thinking it might be sdb I then copied /puppy431 to sda and tried from that using: title Puppeee431 rootnoverify (hd0,0) kernel /puppy431/vmlinuz psubdir=puppy431 initrd /puppy431/initr...

Ive been struggling for a couple of hours over this one -- but getting nowhere. I have Installed frugal version to my 901 and keep getting the pup-431.sfs not found error on boot. Puppy is installed to a directory (puppy431) on sdb and contains:- /media/disk/puppy431/ATAHD /media/disk/puppy431/initr...

Puppy 4.31 Asus Eee 901 Everything went OK (with some trial and error) until the very end where I ran in to two problems I could not solve. 1) It says to write the contents of /tmp/NEWGRUBTEXT into /boot/menu.1st. I can't find /boot/menu.1st. Hi Looks like you selected to do a frugal rather than a ...

cimh, If you run pmount from the terminal, it will usually tell you why the mount is failing. I will double check the ext4 support in 3.1. The crash is somewhat more disturbing... is anyone else having that issue with 3.1? I'm about to release 3.2, maybe you'll find that works better. Thanks - I'll...

Jemimah or others Is there somewhere I can access the previous 2.5 beta files? I've been having a couple of problems since going to 3.1. There isnt much logic as to why they should happen (frequent crash when hooking up to wifi but only immediately after booting) and inability to mount my 16g ext4 s...

Good - Textmaker is able to handle a large 0.5mb doc file very well some of the tables have an unwanted black line going down them but other than that the document loads quickly and looks fine. Abiword - just dies - it does a very poor job of bringing up the first page but with text boxes in the wro...

I have done some benchmarking of this Chrome 4 package against seamonkey, puppy browser, ff2 ff3.56, and opera 10 on puppeee using sunspider that tests java and future mark peace keeper that seems to run a more complete battery. Chrome comes out way in front, followed by ff3.5 quite a way behind the...

Re: reported problem on a 901

I had the impression there was a report of a successful test of Puppeee 4.3.1 on a 901. Is there anyone out there who can confirm this? Hi yes puppeee 4.31 b2.5 running really well on my 901 with xorg. I have also used xorgwizard to switch to xvesa as this speeds up the boot time by a few seconds. ...
