[Howto] Make a Puppy USB pendrive from Windows

Hi This is how I made my pen bootable and run Puppy from it. USB pendrive is F: on my machine. Make the necessary changes if it's other letter on your system. From Windows to Puppy: - download ISO - extract initrd.gz, vmlinuz and pup_xxx.sfs (starting from 4.3, zp_xxx.sfs also needed) - download sys...

I inlist this bug in the forum's 4.3 bug post just after 4.3 comes out. Portuguese (Brazilian) is the right way to say/write. So the Mozilla site is right. There is no South American. In that part of the world, Portuguese is only spoken in Brazil. Spanish for the rest! :) Like in the english diction...

Ok. You didn't tell which Puppy is giving you that problem but I assume it's 4.3... That one seems to be much tunned to new hardware and lose some support for old hardware. Look for the retro version of 4.3 or went back to 4.2. It has better support for old hardware. I had the some problem with my o...

So... It seems a problem on chosing the right VGA driver.
Does it goes all the way thru the xorg wizard?
If so, did you try xvesa? And xorg?

Hardware Area. Anyone interested?

That's it: why not open a sub-off-topic-forum for exchange hardware? This was talked softly in another treat and stayed on my mind. Who was for give can offer there. Who needs can ask for it. No sell, no buy. Just give, take, ask, exchange. What do you say about? Just a thought... maybe a big stupid...

Are you able to boot from CD the ubuntu's computer?
If so, boot from Puppy CD and make a frugal install on a pendrive, then try to boot x20 from external drive (the pen you've made).

I end up with this files in my pendrive: initrd.gz ldlinux.sys pup_411.sfs pup_save-411.2fs (my pup_save, only after first boot) syslinux.cfg USBFLASH vmlinuz This is how my syslinux.cfg looks like: default vmlin...

You need to edit syslinux.cfg file at the root of your pendrive and add fsck at the end of vmlinuz line's.

On a terminal:
fsck.ext2 sdb1
and
fsck.vfat sdb5
?

I tried the theme switcher but the titles stayed with the some color.
pwidgets, gkrellm and rox panel are good for a big screen, I just asked for curiosity.
