living water project

Hi, Ttuuxxx,
is the living water project still alive? Or is there an alternative to look for? I couldn't find any recent version or download at all.
Yours, Corvan.

128 MB is barely enough RAM to boot Puppy from the live CD without a swap partition or file. I'm not surprised you're having problems. Is there any chance you can add RAM to this computer? There is only one slot which is already used by the 128 MB I have; apart from the price for a 256MB module I h...

Flash wrote: How would we know? You didn't tell us anything about your hardware except that it's a notebook. How much RAM does it have? Hi, Flash, I've got a Fujitsu-Siemens notebook, PIII 600, 128MB ram, I am not using the harddisk (6GB full of win98-stuff) for Linux but boot from CD and save on us...

The Return to Puppy 400

I finally gave up trying to install skype in Puppy 431. So I inserted CD with Puppy 4 and pup-save via usbstick and am working with puppy 400 again. Wonder whether this means my notebook is too old for newer versions of Puppy. Is it? Or is the latest skype too big? I remastered Puppy 400 to safe a w...

installing skype

Great guide - worked perfectly for me with puppy 4.0 (hardware: 128mb ram, 600mhz, together with usb-stick). Now I am giving puppy 431 a try - downloaded latest skype static (2.1.0.81), but cannot install the package. tar breaks off at the end - not sufficient memory, as it appears. (less than 1mb) ...

What about TrueCrypt or something similar?

In my office I need some encrytion so that notes and files are protected. Normally I use a steganos solution or - more recently - TrueCrypt. What about including TrueCrypt in the next puppy version? Or if that is too big a package, perhaps the console-version or something else? bcrypt would not do t...

Osmo - can I see all entries of a week and cut and paste?

I use Puppy 4.0 (with Osmo 0.2.0). As far as I can see, it is only possible to see the day note panel for one day. You can change to a different day to see the entries and appointments of it, but you can not see several days /the whole week - or can I? I tried to open Osmo several times and placing ...

removing modules from sword

I think I have found a solution how to remove an installed module. Apart from removing the module itself there is a directory usr/share/sword/mods.d which contains a .conf file for all installed modules. Once the gerhfa2002.conf file is removed, the start dialog box of sword won't offer this module ...

Did GerHfa2002 come as a Puppy package though, Ttuuxxx? I suspect not. corvan - what path are you trying to delete it from? Maybe you have a frugal install and there are actually several paths to it, and the filesystem is getting confused. Otherwise I don't know what the problem could be... except ...

Thanks for your quick reply! to ttuuxxx: perhaps I should have made it clearer that I don't want to uninstall the whole program, it is just the module which doesn't work that I would like to get rid of. Or is there I way to use the package manager for removing just one module? If so, please let me k...

How to delete a bible version?

Hi, I am new to linux and also with regard to Psword. Nice little program! I tried 3 or 4 bible translations - greek, which works perfectly, and also some german, with less success. GerHfa2002 just doen't display any text - is something missing? And how can I remove it from my system - I tried to de...
