Just playing around with an old OS. I noticed you have no options when in preferences-advanced-data choices..... usually you can check boxes to prevent firefox from collecting data. Not so on this OS. Does anyone know why? Anyways, my guess is that firefox does collects data even when you tell them ...

yes, I have tried Xenialpup 7.5 32 bit version, as well as most other recent OS's... laptop will not suspend... Thank you.

can't suspend my dell laptop e6400 on most new OS's...

usually I can just close the lid on all older OS's...

even tried adding acpitool coupled with pupshutdown apps... still won't suspend... any suggestions? Thank You.

Pelo, fyi... I just discovered that you can play .mov and .mp4 files on unicornpup using the mozilla firefox browser. Just open one of the files with the browser... or, by right clicking one of the .mov and .mp4 files and drop the browser app from /usr/ share/ applications into the "set run action ...

I never understood DOC and DEV files and, therefore, just totally ignored them. At least, now I somewhat understand their purpose.

I do copy my savefiles to a usb flash drive.

I will now start experimenting and learn how to prevent Automatic Save ...

Is the first pet listed sufficient, or do I need to install all three? I do not know anything about a pet that starts with DEV and DOC. Are they required? Thank You.

ps: When installing the first one, I got a message saying it may already be installed, and overwriting could ruin my system?

festus, thank you for the sfs... I tried it numerous times, but I still can't get VLC to run on unicornpup.

However, it works with every other pup that I have tried...

csipesz, thank you for your feedback. I downloaded other, more recent, VLC pets, as well as a couple of VLC ubuntu deb packages... but none of them would run in unicornpup. I'll keep trying various options. yr1945

Removed vlc-2.0.0-bill2.pet and installed vlc 2.2.0-tahr from puppy package manager... that one will not work either? Thank you.

Can anyone help me get vlc-2.0.0-bill2.pet working in unicornpup? I added 2 missing dependencies (ffmpeg & qt)... but it still doesn't run? Most pets work on my E6400 Dell laptop.Thank you.
