Hello all. Isn't/wasn't there a puppy version that could be installed and run as a windows program? Not dual boot, but actual icon in windows that let you run puppy from within the widows OS? I have been searching and not coming up with it. Any help - especially a link to it would be muchly apprecia...

live CD loads drivers my usb flashdrive install is missing

It's been a while since I used Linux. Always check the puppy pages though... Been playing too much World of Warcraft. =) Gotta say both Quirky 3.1 and Puppy 5.11 are both very impressive having burned/used puppy CD's since way back to version 2.0 (even tried the versions prior once I discovered pupp...

barebones puppy 2.01

hello all - just wondering if anyone has a copy of devx_201.sfs they could upload?

I have been playing around with an *old* puppy and can't find a copy of devx_201.sfs to use with it.

Well, I copied msy_084.sfs to the C:\ on my laptop....but it still did the same thing. I'm sure the hard drive is NFTS, but as long as I had it right on C:\ and not in a folder or anything that should matter right? I know the DVD works because it loaded fine in two other systems - including my home ...

Muppy 084 final ~ hangs at loading msy_main-file to ram

First of all i am currently using Muppy 080 on my desktop and have configured my ATI X1300 using 3DCC and have also added the devx_080.sfs file and all that is working properly. My problem is I wanted to use the Muppy 084 final release on my Sony Vaio laptop VGN-FZ180E since it has a better video ca...

I have been unable to boot either beta213 1 or 2 here's what I get (I have installed/run puppy 2.00, 2.10, 2.11 and 2.12 so, I don't know why I am having this trouble with the 2.13 betas). copying pup_213.sfs to tmpfs...mounting on (initrd)/pup_ro2...failed dumping last lines of /tmp/bootinit log......

new kernel doesn't like my soundcard

Hello all. I guess this isn't so much a bug in Puppy, as trouble my system seems to have with the newer kernel. My audio playback skips and repeats.... using the newer linux kernel. I have tested this by trying other distros [dsl, zenwalk...] using the same kernel and getting the same error/results....

Mark, I emailed you the log files after I tried again. This time getting an error that openGL was not installed (although with the ATI driver, it said not to install them...). This time it didn't work at all, not even 7 FPS. Then, with nothing to lose I re-installed on top of (didn't uninstall the A...

So, should I just try it again? I did the DRM first, then the driver. It said I didn't have to install the OpenGL if I used the ATI-fglx driver. Should I try that other driver you mentioned instead?

Hello. Thanks for the quick reply. I installed the ATI-fglx one. Before I did a clean install of Puppy 2.10 to my HD, I tried the old 3D Control Panel program (after completely uninstalling the new one) but, it didn't work as you detailed elsewhere. I did reboot, the directions with Puppy are always...

I am trying out the Puppy 2.10 beta and tried also installing the 3D Control Panel, but I am having some issues. I think I installed correctly. Downloaded the 3 dot.pups and installed them in the same order they are listed. I have an ATI Radeon 9200 SE and it worked great using the 3D Control panel ...

Here is what worked for me. Probably not the correct way to do it, but I haven't had any major problems, other than failing to back up my email, so I lost that stuff. But, I didn't have much in there to begin with. Again, there is proabably a better way to do this, but it's worked for me thus far. I...
