I ran into a few issues with lameSMBqmount on Quirky: - trying to mount the root share (equivalent to \\machinename in Windows) using "/" isn't working (I had this working with another Linux system at a time) - you cannot remove that non-working "/" entry from the list of shares ...

When I open a console from the dektop (using the 'console' icon) I get a urxvt, when I use the "Window->Terminal Here" from the context menu in rox I get a rxvt. Is there correct? What's the difference between those?

If you mean the rxvt or urxvt terminal window that you get by clicking the console icon on the desktop, you use the same method that you used to copy text within that window or to that window: copy with the left pointer button; paste with the middle pointer button. Note that the text is not in the ...

I am trying to get the pSX emulator (http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/) to work. I got past the missing libgl.so by installing mesa, but now I am missing libgtkglext-x11-1.0.so.0. I tried installing gtk+ fromm puppy-4 repository, but that didn't help and removing it again killed my desktop (everythin...

OK, I will try to find it. A quick search didn't reveal anything. My main problem is to get quirky to create a session file (maybe an issue with a frugal installation on a quirky full installation?) so I can install the devx and try to compile mixx and sdlmess, since those are programs I use. Ah, so...

Since the problems with mplayer are annoying me I tried the suggestion of somebody from the IRC channel and installed xfmedia. Beside the UI being a nightmare it doesn't work at all. I get a vertical flickering line, which is actually a totally undersized window. After making the window bigger it do...

I am trying to setup a development installation, but my frugal installs (1.2 and 1.2) on a full install of 1.1 never ask to save the session, so I cannot setup the devx. Regarding my "lock" issues. I don't even get the configuration screen. No idea what's going on. Regarding my scanner iss...

Some stuff I came across when setting up a 1.2rc: - during the boot from the CD I saw something with "oldmouse" and "file not found" coming up - when I use the universal installer and what to install to an internal harddisk I get my single disk (sda) to choose. After I created th...

Apparently the pixma backend comes with sane-backends. Investigating. Something else came up: # man test find: `/usr/share/doc/puppylogo96.png/': Not a directory find: `/usr/share/doc/puppylogo48.png/': Not a directory find: `/usr/share/doc/release-Quirky-1.1.htm/': Not a directory find: `/usr/share...

That driver is for printers only, not scanners. I found this http://www.canon-europe.com/Support/Software/Linux/i-SENSYS/i-SENSYS_LINUX_SUPPORT.asp Please note that there is no support for scanning or PC Faxing on Linux for i-SENSYS products. So it seems I am screwed. Although I saw some scanners o...

Firewave - when I lose my network connection (when the router re-connect to the internet / force disconnect) I need to manually trigger a DHCP request I can only comment on Quirky 1.00 but most likely it works on q1.1 too. I had problem with reconnecting too when I used Puppy 431 but when I got Q1....

More on the scanner issue later. It's a Canon i-SENSYS MF4010 and xsane and sane-find-scanner did not detect it. Even after updating to the latest sane-backend/xsane. I can't find a Linux driver for your scanner anywhere. http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0037431.asp?model= There's .rpm and...

These still refers to Quirky 1.1 since I didn't have time to upgrade yet: - when aborting "Auto DHCP" in the Network Wizard it will show the "SUCCESSFULLY CONFIGURED" dialog and ask, if you wanna save the configuration. I think it should not show that - when I lose my network con...

Got the same issue, but updating to 2.2 didn't help.

I also recognized the free disk space application exists as a icon on the left next to the "Menu" button and as a tray icon. I think one is enough. When I select "All Drives" it also shows sda1 twice (I only got sda1 and sda5 and it is installed to sda1).
