puppyinstaller-bk1.gz worked for me
It recognised the partitions and i did a full HD install to /dev/hda3
using grub on partition only

Sorry about the big picture in my previous post

I have grub intalled on linux partitions (not on MBR)
and using windows bootloader on /dev/hda1 to bring up a boot selection menu

Thanks Barry, i have tried the new installer you have posted but unfortunately it does not recognise the partitions either eventhough that fdisk,cfdisk, and mounter all find them without trouble. I remember having the same problem with puppy 2.16 and i found this file whilst looking for a solution within the puppy forum.
I do remember that there was also talk of probedisk and probepart having to be updated.

Tried to do a full install on internal IDE hard drive which has 3 partitions hda1-ntfs hda2-ext3 hda3-ext2 but universal installer only can see hda1 the ntfs partition, puppy mounter can see all partitions. Running Puppy 2.14 as a live cd i was at site

everytime i tried to click on menu item on left hand side of site
Seamonkey browser would just shutdown instantly

After much playing around i finally got my wireless Usb stick working with puppyand my router using WPA-PSK encryption.
