Do newer releases run slower on older hardware?
I'm very happy with 2.12 performance wise on my celeron 333~500 machines with 96~128mb of ram installed to 4gig hard drives.
Will installing a newer version make these puppies crawl in the way upgrading from win95 ~ xp? Thank you all.

Wow... I see what you mean. ~280mb portableapps folder on my sdcard. yup, 'slightly' larger than puppy. ;) but still I would like to see portable apps using puppy as the linux distro of choice. Could be some good marketing there. After all... this is the Puppy Power forum and that was my initial int...

Warning to all laptop users...
Just a heads up but i installed puppy 2.12 to a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300 4340 system unit model:PS434C-3N156 laptop is always plugged in as the battery is weak. The laptop gets it's settings in windows from a toshiba power utility in windows and I suspect that is why the fan is not blowing. When I...

supertalent.com drive boots fine
after a few times formatting the drive to ext2 or ext3 and not being able to do a universal install to it, I tried FAT. Bingo. The picture I posted shows it. It's my office when I am at a remote office I frequently hang out at. All I need is a host pc that can boot off the usb. I even have skype ins...

comments regarding #puppylinux IRC chat room
This is "my" personal view but one of the most deflating feelings a person can have is asking something and not getting 'any' reply. This is regarding a 'dead' chat room where users are clearly there but most likely just as I, doing other things or on a totally different pc via a kvm switc...
