... I put them both in my XP machine and they were both empty. I found the ISO's and moved them onto a USB drive and took them to my windows computer and burned them to cd using BurnCDCC and they still don't work. ... I don't understand what you done. Are they RW disc? If so, they must be erased ...

Look at SYSLINUX Wiki

Probably you will find this files at boot part of LiveCD iso file. Use iso image editor to extract files you need.

"Monkey experiment"

I copied (ROX-filer) /etc/X11 and usr/X11R7 from fresh installation to a fallen one. Nothing repaired: "TEST_X_NOW" is not starting, Xvesa is not working.

I confess, that I'm tired with puppy's problems. It's very feasible, that's fs problem, however "fsck -f" show me no errors each time I do it. I never say die... :lol:

Exorcisms do not help. I moved disk to the another PC (ATHLON2000+, VIA 400, RADEON 9500) and history repeats. All is good before "TEST_X_NOW", but test is not starting, Xvesa is not working...
