BUMP I was hoping someone would see this and maybe take a crack at helping me sort it out... I have to reboot xwin everytime I turn on the computer, after frisbee addresses the adaptor. Is this normal for FatDog64? thanks for any help Michael Ah well it's all good. Got that problem solved finally ...

disappearing tray
I am running FD64-520 on an AMD 64 bit processor. I have a persistant problem with the tray, which I have at the top of the screen, disappearing after bootup. I have to ^-alt-del to get the cli and restart the ui with 'xwin'. I boot FD from CD and have the save file on a NTSF data volume. this ...

First, I want to thank the developers of FatDog. It's the best Pup I've used. Running 520 on an amd64 with 4g of ram. Have a ntfs hard drive for the save files. Almost everything is great. The issue I'm having relates to frisbee addressing the ip adaptor. After it's done, after it reports that the ...

Makoto That's a good question. Sorry about the version error, I'm goofy with numbers, the correct version is 5.1. I wonder why the test isn't satisfied by the lease obtained from the DNS server? It's somewhere in the code that executes during boot when it gets to the "let's address the adapter and ...

upnorth I did some more checking. My current pup, 431, doesn't check any sites that I can detect. Firefox 2.0.0.7 doesn't call out when it opens up. But the current 51 with the current firefox does call out. I have it connecting to a different site from the ones above, on port 443, the https socket ...

zygo, thanks. purpose is to declutter. I prefer just having the items I use the most be in the menus. I can locate the programs where they live and link to them if I'm using them for something. Otherwise I'd rather not have the extra stuff. I still have a few prog links on the desktop, but I may get ...

Pup 51 + pmenu
Hi All!
Pretty self-explanatory. I've searched the site but found nothing. I'd love to be able to trim down the unused menu items the way I did in prior pups. Didn't see it in package manager either.
Anyone have this particular knowledge to share?
thanks

upnorth, thanks for the description. now I wonder why pup wants to talk to google. is there a script that I can reconfigure to stop that behavior? I just prefer the PARANOID setups. So if there is a way I can retrain him, I'd sure like to know what it is. For that matter I'd like to give him better ...

puppy 501 hooking up
Hi All When pup 500 and 501 boot they make connections to 74.125.53.106 and to 174.143.209.250. The first connection disappears pretty quickly, but the second one hangs up and remains connected, even though LAST_ACK is sent. This looks very suspicious to me, especially since my cisco firewall will ...
