I use truecrypted container files, that I can also mount via TC from different OS and an encrypted pupsave for things I only need in Puppy.
Works fine for me so far ...

JaDy, fantastic, thanks for the good news. Would it be possible to make installing KQEMU optional, so that one could leave the host computer completely untouched (and does not need admin rights for installation) ? With Dingo Final to be released soon, is it still too early to give a planned release ...

Dual-Use Puppy on USB ?
A few days ago I discovered a new article at Pendrivelinux.com that I found very interesting: This ALL In One version of Pendrivelinux 2008 can be run from a USB thumbdrive either natively (as a stand alone Operating System at boot), or within Windows using qemu emulation. Moreover, the user can sav...

Password shown in plain text ?
Hi all, using a frugal install of 4.00 final I noticed that the password that I enter when mounting a personal save file (with heavy encryption created with Puppy 3.01 or 3.00) is being shown as plain text, while it was not shown at all with 3.01. I confirmed this behavior by choosing "none&quo...
I've just returned from Canada where I successfully used an encrypted pup 2.17 on a flash stick, booting from a mini CD.
Tony, I hope you (and your Puppy ;-)) had a good time in Canada. How did you convince people to let you boot from your own CD, or did you not use public computers i...

(Sorry if I am repeating a question answered somewhere already, but my search in the forums did not turn up a thread about this topic. If any exist, please simply let me know.) Using SFS in QEMU Puppy ?
(Sorry if I am repeating a question answered somewhere already, but my search in the forums did not turn up a thread about this topic. If any exist, please let me know.) I tried to include .sfs-files in QEMU Puppy and failed, so I guess I do not understand the process correctly. (For ease of typing ...

Hi all, vacation time is coming up, and I would like to take my Puppy along, to replace the collection of Windows Portable Apps (www.portableapps.com, if you are interested) I used on my last trip. Worked fine, but since I am making the move to Linux now, why stop halfway ... ;-) To make this work I...

Rebooting to Puppy in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... FAILED AGAIN ... and again ... (...continuing my earlier posting, after which I mistakenly believed I had solved the problem...) Now I really don't have a clue what is going on. After my first post I tried booting again, using "acpi=off" and ev...

Hi all, perhaps somebody here can help a Puppy newbie with a problem ... :( I downloaded puppy-2.01r2-seamonkey.iso tonight, planning to create a USB-stick Puppy version by booting from the CD and going through the automatic install routine. So far I got stopped by the following problem when booting...
