merge sfs files into one sfs using aufs & mksquash?

Would it be possible to mount and merge several sfs files using aufs, then "mksquash" the mountpoint for the aufs merged sfs files into one? Goal: I have more than six sfs files i'd like to "mount" so I have to juggle them around all the time.

Graphics not detected properly on Asus 1201T

The screen has a resolution of 1366x768 with a RS780M/RS780MN Radeon HD 3200 Graphics controller. It would not start X: I did manage to get X to start by replacing /etc/X11 contents with the contents that were created on Puppy511 Lucid. This got me to a 1024x768 screen maximum even though the xorg.c...

Thanks for posting this:-)

Ndiswrapper does work without issue BUT like I posted before, native drivers seem to be more conservative with power use. Ndiswrapper just runs the device at full speed and power.

If running Ubuntu, these same apps I m trying to use in Puppy (gqview, xnview, amarok) do not differentiate between a drive/partition or a mounted share... Everything is visible in every app. I had the issue on pupeee beta 4.4, on my EEE-701 but it 'went away' in 5.1.1 after doing some permissions s...

not solved Pnethood = unseeable mounts for apps

Truly weird: If I mount a samba share, either with this tool, or from the command line, I can see the files in rox or thunar, but not with an app like gqview, or xnview they are not visible. Same with music on my mounted cifs share: they show in rox, but not in amarok or songbird? Oddly, if I run wi...

I can't get the successfully made module to "insmod" It does not "modprobe" on the next boot... and ndiswrapper keeps loading, even with the win driver removed (ndiswrapper -r). I thougth maybe ndiswrapper is interfering, but that does not make complete sense unless it is still l...

I built the package very easily after doing what your post said:-) That rocks. I did not have time to do a "make install" yet but the build went with no errors. I was using ndiswrapper, and it works well, so I probably should not mess with it, so I will copy my save.sfs file to another dri...

Thanks for the info and yes, it is annoying: why can't they just have the sfs mount a symlink in /lib/ called.... "source" or "build?" I had spent an inordinate amount of time researching this before posting here. I generally know how to find the things I need in Linux!

Compiling a driver using "make" in puppy 511?

I am trying to build a realtek wifi driver... not an issue for me since I have been using linux derivatives for 8+ years. I have the lupu_devx_511.sfs file loading at boot and the command make is available, but when I enter the untarred directory # cd /tmp/rtl8192se_linux_2.6.0018.1025.2010 # make m...

I am using Puppy 5 and...

I was initially frustrated but used the win driver with ndiswrapper and rebooted: It works but oddly, I have to do this or it won't connect iwconfig wlan0 essid linksys rate 11M It sets the rate at 54 but it seems to work... the rate had initially been some odd number like 63 and it could not negoti...

[solved] how do I run OpenOffice from sfs file

I have some experience with Slax and DSL. I am running pupEEE 4.2 on my EEEPC 701 and I want OpenOffice. I have tried various "pets" for OpenOffice and the latest one works initially, but one I reboot, I have to uninstall it and reinstall it (I checked /usr/bin and all the links to the pro...
