You know
Everyone wants everything today, these days:-) I managed to get IcePuppy 14 with PAE going, which is lupu with a different kernel, so I had to track down the source sfs, and then I got the rtl8192se tar and built the .ko for that, then I got the radeon ati 11-12 from amd and the .run package ran and...

hae issue as well
Same issue and trying the acpi-tool-0.5.1 racy-5.3 version caused a lockup situation where the caplock button flashed rapidly and I had to to a hard shutdown. The "normal" acpitool .51 gives these results: sh-4.1# acpitool -s Function Do_Suspend : could not open file : /proc/acpi/sleep. Yo...

remaster issue
I was trying to do a remaster to shrink my overall frugal setup, but run into an issue I never ran into with remastering a puppy: It skips the whole squashing of my os, It puts /root and /etc in /tmp, and then just creates an iso with that. Weird. It is not including any files from / So the whole is...

Thanks for this
This is the first puppy I have put on my ASUS 1201T and had pretty much most stuff work, i.e. wireless, and have some of the extra stuff. It even works with the Trinity sfs. I still use JWM most of the time due to the fact that the default apps in JWM work with puppy more nicely.. The PAE kernel let...

Need help getting Trinity to run
I have the trinity sfs loading but when I follow steps to link libraries, I get #ldconfig bash: ldconfig:command not found when I drop out of X, If I run # startkde I get a bunch of text referring to libGL.1.so not being found. Aside from this, I have this running on an oddball handtop and everythin...

Later Pups, after 4.3, USB is shut off during boot process?
I have a real prolem with puppies after 4.3. I am using an OQO model 2 that I got on e-bay and it is a wonderful machine. I currently have 2 puppies that boot functionally: puppy 4.2 and oddly, Puppeee. The latter even works with my wifi dongle if I copy over the zd1211 firmware into /lib When I try...

Re: rtl8192se wireless
It does work;-) Installed depmod -a ifconfig wlan0 up Bada bing... works. They recently released this newer version of the driver and it is significantly more stable. Might be nice if it could be compiled into a pet for now. Here it is, but there are no guarantees that it will work. Update: There ha...

excellent
That did the trick! I didn't have to do this with snowpuppy. It was kind of a pain only having it with pwidgets because I could not see my battery status when running an app. This is SUPER by the way and I appreciate the HIGHMEM feature.. I have a 64 bit processor and I had tried lighthouse and fatd...

Not seeing a battery monitor in tray
I don't see a battery monitor in the jwm tray BUT I can add it to pwidgets and monitoring works correctly. Am I missing a package?

rtl8192se realtek wifi
Running icepuppy 14 on asus 1201T netbook with Realtek rtl8192se wifi device. I have the following items running: devx_lupu_014.sfs kernel_src-2.6.38.4-lupe26.sfs The wifi is still not included in the kernel here and most Linux'es are including it with later kernels. I can build it and install it. M...

Amarok sort of works
I got Amarok to work in minimal way by installing it from one of the repos, and attempting to launch it, then I would install one package at a time with whatever dependency lib it called for until it launched. The left pane will not show my collection (all the icons for local, files, etc are showing...

No Amarok?
I just realized that Amarok is not in the KDE sfs? I attempted to build it, but of course the build failed with qt issues within moments. I tried installing from one of the repos first, but it wanted to basically upgrade all of kde at the expense of 425+ MB. I deselected some things and within a few...
