misunderstanding
okay, you have misunderstood me slightly, i didn't just delete the text file in /rot/.packages i deleted all the files that it listed in the text file. That text file contains all the files that were created by the installer when whoever put them in the main sfs file, and deleted them. BUT i don't k...

[SOLVED]What happens when i delete inbuilt files of puppy
So, i was wondering if i could remove some applications like geany (since i prefer nicoedit). I went to .packages/builtin_files/geany found all the files listed there, and deleted them, then i deleted the .desktop files and everything was fine, so i rebooted, wondering if it would reappear or not, i...

Bruce B : I mentioned that seamonkey/chromium would be ideal, but any browser would do. I would like something lighter, but it should be quite well known, and have a huge bunch of applications, as basically only browser will be present. I'd prefer modifying an already made OS, as i am not good enoug...

To Ken geometrics : Not exactly what I wanted, what i wanted was to remove everything else also, and no jwm, text editor, abiword, rox, music player, and other daemons that come built into puppy, just a browser. To runtt21 : Browserlinux has a text editor, pdf reader and other stuff, i find that tho...

How to strip Puppy down to just a browser?
Okay, I wanted a browser OS, and saw that chromium OS was "huge". So, i decided to try to strip puppy to have only a browser. Basically I want something that boots directly into a browser. No desktop, icons, etc. the only thing on the screen is a browser. We should be able to open multiple ...

I have a pendrive that I normally use to boot puppy/quirky/wary off. I was wondering what should I do if i want to boot multiple versions of them? (or even puppy and another linux distro) Basically, i want my pendrive to give me an option of which OS to choose, and how do i put multiple OSes in my p...

Sorry for not replying on the Belkin problem, but Quirky 1.3 worked well, so i am using that from now on. (Posted it there also) I don't want to use fluppy or pupeee, as they are intended for laptops or netbooks (or so i read), and this is for a pc, so i was wondering if there was some kind of progr...

Sorry for not answering
Ah i am so sorry for npt answring sooner, completely forgot that this was still open.
Due to problems in lucid 5.12, I tried out quirky and wary 500 (just experimenting at that time), and it worked out of the box in quirky 1.3, so i started using quirky from now on.

How to make quirky sleep or hibernate?
Okay, these are the two things i would like to do: 1) Make quirky go into hibernation or sleep mode. 2) Come out of this sleep mode by pressing a key on the keyboard. I have a hibernation key on my keyboard, and wanted to use it, any ideas? I use: Intel Atom processor (integrated into motherboard) w...

puppy?
Before quirky i used to use Puppy 5.2, I switched to quirky as it has seamonkey built in which i prefer. Even in puppy 5.2 the same problems arose, so i doubt it has something to do with quirky. Also, before that wary 500 also did not give any audio.
