I have Conky, it works fine. Just don't install pwidgets, because they are in fact Conky with a bells-and-whitles configuration. I think it was a bad idea by whoever that is to get Conky and call it pwidgets. They conflict. Some measure should have been taken to differentiate Conky from pwidgets so...

I uninstalled the p-widgets and wbar. Rebooted. Reinstalled p-widgets. They are working again. Reinstalled wbar and it blanked the desktop wallpaper and was displaying giant size and at the very top of the screen. The taskbar was still there so I was able to stop wbar and uninstalled it. Would reall...

Conky is wonky[Not solved but fixed]

Hmmmm. I installed Conky 1.80 lucid from the puppy package manager. Don't know what happened, but this issue showed up after the first reboot after installing the package. Ideas?

Although this forum treats Dummies well what it ends up with are Dummies who only know how to follow recipes -- follow steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 to accomplish A or do this and this and this to make your system do B. These Dummies then think they know how to do something in Puppy or worse yet in Linux and...

And the number of people who know this [spot], without spending hours on this forum? I've not heard Windows users complain about running as a privileged user. Exactly, for Pre Vista. On my Win 7 box, I run as a Standard User, and have my admin account when I need it. Being Windows, I find a (false)...

This could be what the future holds in store for you if you go along with it. Your computer will be a thin client if you succumb to cloud control. So the question is, are you sheeple or are you “Guy In Charge

Re: reborn puppy v0.28

While checking puppy out i discovered the remaster live-cd tool and i thought i'd share my puppy configuration with others (if they are interested of course). There's not much to say really, it's a remaster of lupu-525 http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/2968/uacsp.png I like the wallpaper for sure,...
