Hi Robert, For reasons best known to itself, the forum software didn't tell me that you'd answered my previous post; I apologise for not responding for that reason. I am sorry. Now, just a note in passing, about 2.14R "Revisited or Remastered" and I rather like it at first go. I also tried both the ...

Fine. I'm in Adelaide (as you can see from below my avatar) and I can assure you it's as rare as hen's teeth here. I would not encourage anyone buying sight unseen, money up front, from eBay, or anywhere else, because on early computers you should actually fit the RAM into the computer (with battery ...

Wonder if this is the project you were looking at last year that went on the backburner? And will it work with earlier puppies? I ask that because I've no choice but to install nothing later than 2.10pro/2.11 on some boxen that have Intel810 or SIS chipsets. My customisation is geared around 2.10pro ...

Current status is the server has been stable 7 days and served almost 4GB. The only trouble is with dynamic DNS, it's not 100%. There are intervals when the domain is unreachable because DNS has to update across the networks. I hope that is only once or twice 10-20 mins per day, but's that's a very ...

While not a Thinkpad, I have Puppy 2.15ce running on a Windows95 era Twinhead laptop which has a 266MHz Pentium MMX processor with 64Mb of RAM and 200Mb (I think) of swap file. I agree it doesn't run that fast :) The solution is really to fit more RAM but on a model that old, that isn't practical ...

Re: Start page
I have been experimenting with linux mint on a few of the newer machines (just to see what the rest of the linux world is on with...I havnt really tried much apart from puppy). They have a custom default start page online, which includes a basic google search, but also many other useful things as ...

Hi Ray :) did Richard ever make an iso of the work he did to 210pro available? if he did, would love to download and play - it looks fantasic and I would also have an opportunity to learn more about earlier Puppy's and the excellent work thats been done to them. Answered in the post above this one ...

First of all, thank-you Robert for your invitation to join you. Secondly thank-you to the rest of you also for your enthusiasm about the laborious plodding type work I've done with those menus, starting with the original one a year or maybe more ago when I showed how the actual Windows2000 (which I ...

I've got a different problem. I thought I would try making a couple of remasters of two of my experimental "updates" for earlier hardware as described elsewhere. I'm puzzled, because in both cases I appear to have all the correct files in the puppylivecdbuild directory, and did whatever edits were ...
