You don't say where the printer is connected to. i would say: connect it to the xp-64, make the printer shared. You can access it easily with the other windows machines. As you don't specify which puppy's you use (always report this) you could use Pnethood. I'm still experimenting with puppies. I ...

This isn't really a puppy question, its just a problem that has come up now that I have so many computers thanks to puppy. I've got a wireless router with 2 open ethernet ports. I've got a bunch of computers that connect to this router wirelessly to get to the internet, but there is no file sharing ...

Hmm I found memory on my first google. Is it really series 525 or did we guess at that. If so the memory for this seems to be a little high. It would take you 32 per bank, or $64 to bring you up to 128. http://www.4allmemory.com/memory/compaq-hp-vectra-500-series-525/ I just paid $11 to upgrade my ...

Yes both 0 and 1 (Do you think its those of us with 2 pcmcia slots that are problematic) Question 2 Run this in a terminal: # elspci -l (that is letter l on the end) You should see a line with ...

I'm using pup-431-small. I am using Wary Puppy 5.1.1. Why not the latest version? Well, simply because I am also interested in this version of Puppy for a virtual pipe organ project I was researching (not for this machine though). Thanx, Geo Well I started out with Lucid 5.25, which I think was the ...

Oops, I've got to learn to be more precise. :) This is labeled 54 Mbps Wireless PC Card WG511 v2 Even though there is a space between the WG511 and the v2 it is the WG511v2 with Marvell chipset. :) It only works with ndis wrapper and doesn't seem to work very well in Windows, but works very nicely ...

Also as I am typing this post from the computer, I noticed that there are quite a few pauses when I am typing. I would like to put a stop to that as well. I had the same issue when I tried for the small video setup, I think it was xvesa, or something like that. When I redid my setup with xorg all ...

Re: About puppy
You should check to see how seamonkey renders your website. SeaMonkey is the default browser in many versions of puppy. My website receives about 900 hits a day, and in the two years its been 27 hits from seamonkey. Those were all from me this week ! :D: I've also seen some issues with Microsoft ...

If you have ever actually installed Windows on a laptop starting with a generic Windows disk, you know that it is much harder and more time-consuming than installing any Linux distribution (distro). I'm getting ready to do my first windows install, upgrading Win2k to WinXP, and I'm terrified. I've ...
