Re: Akita beta13 isn't seeing any USB's
I've tried both Pmount and Ymount. Pmount says ERROR: unable to mount sdb1 Ymount says Sorry, mounting partition sdb1 failed. *** Rox just shows an empty box for all my HDD also. Using the LiveCD now... My old junker PC could really use this puppy. Earlier today I installed Carolina 003 and yesterd...

Just a guess, but since USB3 is still new, the components used still cost more. Once is is more widely used price will come down and it will become default. The other reason is USB3 can supply A LOT more power which most things don't need. If all ports were USB3 then the power supply and board layo...

Help with finding BlueGriffon
Maybe I belong in the beginners forum, but I hope not. BlueGriffon is a wysiwyg website builder I'd like to try. It's popular so I expected it to be found with PPM --but nothing available. I appreciate any & all help. ** FREE CONCERT: I'm discovering this puppy is excellent with multimedia. If a...

I found an Arch Live CD today with Fluxbox
It is 620MB... I've been trying to better learn Arch this is educational and strictly a live cd distro. Too bad the developer didn't consider frugal installation, but he added powerful scripts and easily installed on my 3rd ext4 partition. It was then I discovered no apps get installed, just a base ...

From this intermediate user's perspective
This latest distribution is turning things very positive. Precise 5.4 has captured my interest, and I'm a notorious hopper. I'll set my torrent (thanks 01micko) right after this little posting... Heck, don't stocks dip before they begin their best runs? BTW, Barry knows full well how to market. Look...

Can't highlight (but can select) text in SeaMonkey
Really incredible distro Barry! Thank You This might already known, but maybe not. It happens in the SeaMonkey browser & composer. It doesn't happen in Geany for example... Quite simply selecting text with the <-- --> keys works but does not highlight the text. Same thing with the mouse pointer,...

Having to restart xwin every 30 minutes.
First, thanks for the Saluki fork. I looked over all 15 pages on the forum & I guess I could try Geoffrey's suggestion on page 10 (get the old nvidia pet). But Saluki never had this issue, so I thought you wouldn't mind my inquiry. Things go fine but then the mouse pointer just turns to a + (plu...

Re: Audacious 3.2.3
Ok, here's Audacious 3.2.3 with mp3 support for Saluki. Made from the Lupu pet with all needed libs added and tested on Saluki 023. Hopfully one of the more experienced guy's will check it out to see if it's ok but so far so good. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?cqfaby8lk7dgk21 Just saying th...

Some issues just sort themselves out.
I think everyone finds support satisfaction one way or another. That is to say, they work harder at finding an answer. I have yet to see any distros on Twitter - I don't think we'd get laughed at for trying and being first! Can I get a woof woof?

I only wanted to say Firefox 15 is still the default browser, not Seamonkey as your blog mentioned... Just checking in. Oh, and I can't find the WmChooser you mentioned. Firefox slowed after Flash installed
It's probably not relevant but it seemed to slow noticeably. This is my first try of your win-mgrs. I started with Xfce earlier tonight, then got the Lxde and prefer it. I'm going to install it on a neighbors old P4 (single core/256m ram) tomorrow. See you around. The install icon is cool, and so is...

Can I get a written review link?
I could just Google something, but I'd like something real and adds a firsthand narrative. I'm trying to promote a little distro hopping as healthy. Give a look please.
UPDATE: I'll use the DistroWatch written review, even though it's talking about Slacko.

Exprimo is a damn good Puppy
Pemasu I just wanted to thank you sincerely for the months of quality hours I've been educated & entertained with Exprimo.

Okay then, when trying to get pets with Midori you get a blank box -- so you just press Enter and your download does alright. So I'm next using SeaMonkey 2.7.2 doing a stupid distro download from some jerk-linux and I double click the Home icon and kapow Seamonkey disappears along with 45 minutes of...
