Hi. I'm not aware if there is a puppy that can boot into several different window managers. The one and only I do know which can boot into another wm as installed, is my German edition of LazY Three Headed Dog, which can boot into Enlightenment e17 Window Manager by a pre-defined menu entry in then ...

I would prefer a more simple overview to the menus where you have to dig deep to get to the partition manger for example. that makes it more easy for normal users. because at the upper levels it just shows the most common choices for common tasks. Sounds like exactly fitting to something I'm curren...

Ok People. First thanks for the replies. I'd like to see: play an encrypted Blu-Ray disk. Yes, this would be a good idea. Also for some Audio applications and/or Graphics programs. But this is not possible with the RoxApp Builder - more down below Nice to hear from you again :D :D Thank you very muc...

Hi french people and developers. I'm just wondering why doing a lot of -imho- unneeded work to get the Puppy Online Updater using gettext. I think, gettext is ideal for scripts that come without its own directories and will stuck in /usr/sbin for example. Since the 'old' zigbert method (I'm still us...

I think people learn a way of doing things and then get stuck in a rut. Yes, I can confirm this! I've been faced to this at least once a day, when I'm spending time with other people. But there is one exception: my girlfriend! Like me, she loves to learn new things and also doing things another way...

Puppy Linux will never change because its author doesn't want it to change... ... ... That's true of course, since Barry did made clear he is doing Puppy and he is deciding what Puppy will be (or will be in Puppy). Even though I'm doing the same with LazY Puppy, I'm a bit disappointed about this, b...

Thank you, Karl. I've solved this using a sub-script (defaulttexteditor-bin) which is executed now by the defaulttexteditor script. In this sub-script I do check at first, if the submitted file or file list includes images (just checking for .png, .jpg, .bmp and .xpm at the moment) If so, it will se...

Hi. I do create .pet packages only to convert them into .sfs files. Generally I do include all the needed dependencies (if not already installed) into the .pet package ---> then converting it to .sfs file. All of my programs are stored in .sfs files. There are .sfs files with sizes from 11 KB up to ...

Since you've already unplugged the USB flash drive, just switch off the computer. If you do have FAT32 partitions or drives run Windows first and do a scan disk. What Lucid 528 are you using? The early versions did have some problems with sound and shut down functions - but, they are gone at Lucid 5...
