I forgot to mention it seems that polaris GPUs are having font scaling issues that makes it nearly unreadable.
the Icon fonts are readable because I set it to 28 on the look and feel menu but makes the font of applications like synaptic way too big . the Openbox settings appears to have no effect.

I Can't launch 3d applications.
not even glxgears
I suspect that it has something to do with AMD Polaris drivers.
The GPU is an RX-560 (reported as an RX-460 on hardinfo).

I have been running this version for some time with no problems until recently I was forced to kill a page and when I rebooted the screen resolution had changed. With my monitor the resolution has been 1600+900 and it has now changed to 1152+864 and only lower resolutions available on the Xorg vide...

Re: When do we need other than Linux Ext3 formatting?

Hi jangelelcangry, I think you've misunderstood bigpup. Puppies can read drives formatted as 64-bit Ext4. However, grub4dos can not boot from them. IIRC, if you use gparted under Tahrpup to format a drive as Linux Ext4, gparted will format it as 64-bit Ext4. Puppies can read it, but not boot from i...

If you are willing to do it. Reformat to EXT3. Install Tahrpup. EXT4 has had issues recently in some Puppies. Depending on what program you used to do the format. There is now a 64bit EXT4. Puppy can only 100% handle 32bit EXT4. EXT3 has never been a problem. So, gparted's uses the 64-bit ext4. I'l...

All additional sfs packages need to be located in /mnt/home. The programs that load and unload additional sfs packages expect them to be in that location. So, /mnt/home is the place to put them. Why? /mnt/home is outside of the Puppysave. The sfs packages are just on the partition, not inside a dir...

Are you using tahrpup64 6.0.6? If so, I am afraid, the problem occurs under certain conditions. Yes. Are the extra sfs's put in the psubdir? Then how about putting them outside the psubdir? I don't know what psubdir is but what I know is that the SFS Files are loaded from root directory. Is restart...

Re: Tahrpup64 6..0.5 CE

Hi jangelelcangry where did you get that driver for your AMD Radeon (reference design) video card? Here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/previous/detail?os=Linux%20x86_64&rev=15.9 for some reason, when I install the quickpet driver, run the aticonfig --initial command it breaks my...

@bigpup Well, It didn't worked. Time to nuke. That was one big reason to offer Tahrpup with PaleMoon browser. The developers of PaleMoon are not constantly trying to require the latest and greatest in support files/programs. No wonder Why Firefox feels considerably heavier release after release.[/img]

Here's one approach that can be useful. Create a DVD from the ISO. Many Windows tools and methods exist to do so; Linux and Apple, too, do the same thing. Shut down a PC and boot from the DVD Fill in FirstRUN with localizations and set the hostname for your PC Hit OK and the PUP distro will proceed...
