How to show AM/PM time, not 24 HR time?

I just downloaded Puppy Precise and I can't get the time set correctly. It is set up in military time (eg 1400 is 2pm) I want to set it up to am/pm. What do I need to do?

Thank you-

I am currently using Linux Mint LMDE but I am considering using Puppy Slacko. Is it as secure even though you are logged in as root when you use it? I have read some reviews that say this is unsafe.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!
