Java and Opera Mini
Dear all, Since I was able to run the operamini.pet which is version 6.5, I tried out a few others (including version 4.2, 4.4, 4.5, 5.1 and 7.1). Although I had not much problems running it with ver 4.5, I do notice that when I run ver 5.1 and 7.1, the whole menu bar becomes very large and not ...

Java and Opera Mini
I did manage to try operamini.pet (v6.5) and google+chrome.jar (a modded opera mini 4.2) last night. I notice that v4.2 was much more speedy in loading pages even with graphic, but v6.5 was unable to load it fast, with 2 tabs open. any reasin for this? the connection speed was a basic 64 kbps one.

Litepup-2.14 (62.2 MB) - available to download
Dear all,
In my search for a smaller puppy distro, i notice that the download site, toddrichardson.com, is no longer available. Are there any other sites where i can get a copy of litepup-2.14?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Classicpup Problem
Dear all, managed to get the xorg 7.3 full drivers pet package. But there's not much improvement either. Seems that it freezes, displaying a white screen, with grey patches. Also I find that the ppm cant install some packages. Plus mut2 & pmount seems to take forever to load. This issues seem to ...

Classicpup Problem
Hi clarf,
Thanks for the reply. I find that puppy 4.3 works better. For updating the kernel, should i compile a new kernel from scratch, or just switch the 2.14x kernel with the 4.30 kernel? I did see a post on switching the kernels somewhere here.

goingnuts: Thanks. Anyway, i do have some issues which i experienced, not sure if you had it also. When i exit x, at the command line, when i enter mazewm, i get a message saying 'cant open display'..that's normal when trying to run other WMs. When i run startmazewm, it starts without sound & menus ...

Exactly, it would involve some major overhauling of source code for multiple applications.
I tested maze wm on browserlinux last night, i noticed that the menubar is blue. So is the menubar colour option available in .mazewmrc already?

P/S: though it would be so cool to have custom menus just like in a mac.. I bet there would be alot of people thinking maze wm pc's are some kind of hybrid macs..

So i was thinking.. If the custom menu bar feature was available, definitely we can create menus for each application (for convenience and uniformity). However, this leads to: 1. Slower startup, due to the fact that mlvwm/haze/maze has to read multiple custom menu entries for each application with a ...

I leave this forum for a day or so and mazewm is released.. Good work goingnuts..
By the way, i just remembered that mlvwm has the ability to have interactive menus based on the particular application it's running. So here I'm wondering if haze & maze WM has that same ability to do so?

Keef: Noted with thanks. goingnuts: good job! (clap! clap!) Finally mlvwm & haze are unified as a new wm. I support it being renamed to MazeWM. Or just Maze perhaps? Briefly tried it out on my 2.14x, and it was good tweaking the settings & seeing how'd it turn out. Amazing that it still supports the ...

goingnuts: I downloaded your version of mlvwm, was quite impressed with it's flexibility. Also, it feels more zippy & light on my laptop with pup 4.30.. And though the icons aren't there, i managed to get it running with the plain & mac os 8 themes. Thanks for testing! I will add the haze min/max ...
