How to run Wine in Xenialpup 64?

Xenialpup 64-bit, frugal install, fully updated. I'm 70 years old and in failing health. My ability to process things wrt computers has been compromised. I know this has been brought up before, but I can't process instructions as well as I could when I was younger. I would love to find a step-by-ste...

Strange -- my Puppy Linux has always been a full install. No problem with loading sfs before. Everything with Tahr works just fine. Oh well.

Thanks, all. I guess I'll go back to another Puppy distro for now. A lot of work to do, can't spend any more time.

Since I only use one distro at a time, what's the harm with a full install? My understanding has always been that frugal installs are for when you want to run Puppy alongside another distro. What am I missing here?

Sorry. 64-bit SCPup. 19.09. But full install, not frugal. Is this a real problem?

[Ended for now] SCPup problems

Okay, decided to give SCPup a spin. It's gorgeous! I love the desktop. I tried installing Google Chrome. There's a menu item "Get Web Browser." Underneath, Chrome. Okay, clicked, it does some fancy stuff, then gives me a fatal error -- sfs file not found. Looks like it's searching Sourcefo...

Which puppy is best for visually disabled?

Not completely blind, of course, but needing some help with screen magnification. Is there a puppy variant that caters specifically to this need? As always, thanks for the help.

Amazing. 5 minutes works. 120 minutes, not so much. I wonder if xscreensaver will work with this version of Puppy. Gonna give it a go.

Nope, not getting it mixed up. And I do want 120 minutes -- watch a movie on Youtube, etc., without being overly involved <grin>.

Thanks. I'll settle for not having screen blanking.

Yup, using screen saver control. Interestingly, it worked fine in 6.0.5. Not working in 6.0.6.

Screen blanking in Tahr 6.0.6

64-bit new install. I've got screen blanking set to 120 minutes. It doesn't work -- screen does not blank. Has anyone else noticed this behavior? Thanks.

Tahrpup oddity: default pdf app not installed

Puppy Tahr, 64-bit, fully updated. Clicking on a pdf file asks me to indicate which program I want to use to open the file. Checking the Default Application Chooser, I see qpdfview as the default. So why is Puppy asking me to choose a program to open the pdf? Doh! I checked. Even though qpdfview is ...

Java woes [Solved]

Puppy Tahr, 64-bit, fully updated. Trying to run a program called Bible Desktop, requires Java. I've installed openjdk from the package manager, but when trying to execute the shell script that starts Bible Desktop, I get Error: JAVA_HOME is not defined correctly. We cannot execute java Java won't i...
