Re: Quotes

I think it's about time the Moderators issued instructions about keeping answers or information relevant to Puppy, in the main forums. In particular there is one member who gives a 3 or 4 line answer or information on Puppy matters and then procedes to list long quotes from various people from a by...

gFTP 2.0.18 available as dotpup

I recently had some problems uploading with the gFTP that came with Puppy 1.0.5 and MU advised that others had had trouble with it as well so I downloaded and compiled the most recent version and made a dotpup of it. It works perfectly on my computer. The url to download is http://dotpups.de/JR/gftp...

Afterstep.pup (window manager) available for download again

The corrupt afterstep.pup has been replaced, and is once again available for download. This dotpup requires that a "service pack" (for lack of a better term) be installed in /usr/local/bin for it to function, but it functions flawlessly once they are both installed. The url to downlod afte...

It has been brought to my attention that afterstep.pup became corrupted when I uploaded it, so I have temporarily removed it. I'll upload it again ASAP. I can't do it tonight though because my internet connection is very slow tonight. I'll make a post as soon as it's available again. BTW, I'm attach...

Service Pack for afterstep.pup

Here's the service pack for afterstep.pup. Basicly all that you need to do is extract it (tar -xzvf AS-ServicePack.tar.gz) and copy the contents of the extracted folder to /usr/local/bin. I did include a Readme.txt file with instructions in the service pack. "Life, faculties, production in othe...

Re: For testing: Afterstep windowmanager

The Afterstep-Windowmanager, very fast. This was created by Johnny Reb, and he emphasized, it is not well tested. So use a fresh pup001 to try it. I would do myself, but I will go asleep soon. It is temporarily available here: http://dotpups.de/JR/ (15 MB, 30 MB extracted) Mark Thanks to some bad l...

Re: Alternative to bcrypt

Hi Folks, Has anyone looked at TrueCrypt over at http://www.truecrypt.org . Instead of simply encypting files, it allows someone to setup encryptable container files, which can be mounted within the program as actual drives. It supports various encyption standards such as "AES-256, Blowfish (4...

Re: SWAP, OS Filesystem, and File Encryption

Let me explain. 1. On Windows 98 SE and later platforms you can use JETICO's BestCrypt to encrypt files, encrypt entire disks, and what is possibly more important, with JETICO's BestCrypt you can encrypt your Windows SWAP file, all within the rubric of 448 BlowFish, and beyond. http://www.jetico.co...

Gnutls.pup

I've also got the size of the Gnutls.pup down to where it can be posted here. The download link is below. As in GPA, you need to add a line to ld.so.conf to point to the library files for Gnutls & GpgME. "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand ...

Re: error

I am getting an error as follow. 1. GPA Error - The GPGME library returned an unexpected error. The error was : Invalid crypto engine. So does this require any other dotpup's or anything ? It appears to be looking for either GpgME or Gnutls. I've got dotpup's made for both of them. I'll post the Gp...

GPA.pup, for GnuPG (GpgME.pup & Gnutls.pup added)

I managed to get this compiled, and made a dotpup for it the other night before my puppy laid down and got sick on me. It's a GUI for GnuPG, which makes most of the more common functions a lot eaiser. It also has a file manager for encrypting/decrypting files, and managing them. I included the libgp...
