I have a "3D Rage Pro 215GP" video card which works find with 1.0.7 but not at all with 1.09ce, I get buffer underflow um 3 times something else and then back to the prompt. I tried ...

I would suspect that the new cd drive is set as slave rather than master or that it is on a different connector on the cable. Linux names hardware according to where it is connected unlike windows which uses the next available name.

Would read errors not indicate that the disk isnt being burnt correctly ? ie nero says I burnt this but what is read back is different. I would try writing at a slower speed.

A large portion of the Linux community just plain scoffs at anything Puppy related because they are under the impression that running as root will automatically frag everything. It's a worry to me as well. Some of the windows uses I have tried to get using puppy also dont like the non xp-ish-ness ...

How about including this or a variant of it as samba-1.0 in /.etc/pdq/interfaces then we can use samba connected printers. interface samba { help = "Use this interface if your printer is connected to a Samba server" required_args "WHICH_PRINTER" argument { var = "WHICH_PRINTER" desc = "Which printer ...

For me 1.0.8 should be a full bug fix, nothing new just fix the bugs. This idea that a service pack should be released a couple of days after the main .iso is absurd, fix the bugs then release the version. If a bug is found fix it and release a minor version. Pkzip was like this I think 204g was the ...
