Hi wert, Maybe startmount will help: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=377699#377699 Edit: Thanks bigpup. Forgot how the pmount application worked. Knowing that makes the above unnecessary. Add WPS Office to musher0's list. But I'd strongly suggest Softmaker Office. http://www ...

Hi wert. My sympathies about your lost documents. With a pet archive of LibreOffice or OpenOffice, -- not with a sfs -- It is possible to have a symlink from /opt/openoffice or /opt/libreoffice to another drive, but the problem remains: how much space do you have? As a matter of fact I do have a ...

you only need to update the ppm occasionally. It takes about 5 minutes total time. If 5 minutes and hitting enter about 7 times is drudgery your time must be extremely valuable. Crack open some documents and teach yourself something about Linux...I don't share hard won knowledge to save some punk ...

:D Hello, The PPM points to a static repo, which isn't updated, to prevent conflict. Quickpet is an evolving repo updated by devs when new things are approved... The Ubuntu repos the PPM uses are updatable, and you can point it at new repos as well, but it requires editing a text file manually ...

Now I'm looking for a google drive solution

Many thanks for your help but I've now resolved to use google drive service since I already have an account there that's hard to migrate to dropbox. I've seen that many linux distros nowadays have native google drive support. Do you think it's possible to setup a google drive backup and sync in my ...

How do I split 11Gb file, burn to DVDs with only 8Gb HD spac

I have the following method I could use to split it: tar cvzf - /mnt/sdcard/Large\ file.bin/ | \ split -b 4294967295 - /mnt/sda1/Large\ file\ piece.tgz The result of my brainstorming is to tell the above command to pause after /mnt/sda1/Large\ file\ piece.tgza output, burn that to loaded DVD, rm ...

Other ways to check a burn: -- use the procedure to check a disc in PeasyDisc -- use < cd-info > or < cd-info --dvd >: if cd-info shows you something legible in its "analysis" part (at bottom of the listing), your burn should be good. Other reliable CD / DVD burning utilities in Linux that won't ...
