On March 16, 2016 I asked you for some clarification. You never replied. Sorry man. Been too busy to check emails. I'll have a look at that. BTW you have a heck of great perception to notice the verify button in peasydisc. They should update the interface since that's a great feature hidden from si...

@wert: What PeasyDisc version are you using? V3.7 has two Verify buttons in the Advanced section. The lower one verifies an EXISTING ISO that you just burned. The upper one verifies some files that you burned to a data disc. The intent is NOT to make an ISO just to verify them! But it may not work ...

If I install those and use to burn my 4Gb files, will the resource usage remain the same as when burning files that are less than 4Gb with pburn version 3 or will my system be clogged? I'm currently using Nero 4 linux but cannot multitask while it's burning my 4Gb files since my system gets really s...

I've installed nero and it works great but expires after 1 month so it isn't my permanent solution, although the installation can be time consuming and hard for inexperienced users. Took me an hour to get Nero to detect my device. Anyways All it takes in tahrpup6.0.2 is to install makedev via PPM, c...

Here is my recollection of how burning works with very large files. The real culprit is growisofs. Depending on the version, it may be hard-coded to use either mkisofs or genisoimage to build an on-the-fly image of the data. But genisoimage from cdr-kit fails with large files. So you need a version...

wert You are using cdrkit as burning backend. You are probably running an old puppy or one of BarryK's builds. He is for some reason happy with cdrkit. cdrtools-3 is the recommended backend, and the only supported backend in pBurn 4. If you get the same problems with a recent cdrtools / pBurn, plea...

Hi! it seems pburn cannot burn files that are 4Gb. I'm trying to do that but it says this: Pburn version 3.7.18 ################################################### COMMAND: ################################################### growisofs -use-the-force-luke=notray -Z /dev/sr0 -speed=4 -f -iso-level 3 -...

Other ways to check a burn: -- use the procedure to check a disc in PeasyDisc Instead of using some kind of checksum calculation, PeasyDisc does an actual file-by-file comparison of the files on the new disc with those in the ISO. This is ultimately what you need to verify. Peasy disc verification ...

Nearly recovering my data, can you help me with testcrypt?
Hi! Testcrypt has found my partition after 9 hours of analyzing. Now I am stuck with a small puzzle. In the testcrypt analyzer results which I have attached a screenshot, on the Normal Header column, the numbers there which I want to dertermine the header's location from are 0/32/33 – 2185/43/34. Wh...

Thanks manamigo wrote:Partition info is always in the first block of the disk -before any file-system formatting/magic.
Most partitioning tools create at least one backup of the partition table somewhere else on the disk.
testdisk is a program which tries to retrieve old copies of the partition table.

How to get hardware/logs/system specs from backups?
If I have a backup of puppy linux, can I find out what the configuration was like for the system it was installed on e.g. are there any log files etc. that I can look through? Let me break it down why I need that. I lost my partition definition which defined a truecrypt partition . In the puppy that...

I need USSD functonality for usb modem in lucid
Hi! I have a usb modem but lucid doesn't work with the mobile partner app for linux. How can I get ussd functionality? I have tried mobile partner 21 which worked in tahrpup but it doesn't here since GUI disappears after few seconds of loading. Also tried Mobile Partner 16.001.05.00.45 but it's bugg...

By the way, would you happen to know a quick way of making it only move files of a specific prefix e.g. only backup files that end with .txt? There's actually an option for that under 'mirror backup path - exclusions for selected source'. Exactly what I was looking for. Just a simple '- *.odt' line...
