Re: Scanning with Brother PrinterMFC-L2700DW

I am using Puppy Tahr 6.0.2 with Brother Printer MCFC-L2700DW ... brscan4-0.4.3-3.amd64.deb and brscan-skey-0.2.4-1.amd64.deb with debbi. Tahr 602 is 32bit. You are installing 64bit drivers. The appropriate 32bit driver for your MFC-L2700DW is here http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c...

Are you getting a valid IP address on your subnet, like 192.168.x.y and not a bogus address like 169.254.x.y?

Open a terminal and run: ping 8.8.8.8
Do you get a response?

Check the file /etc/resolv.conf. Does it show a valid nameserver?

@prehistoric: Concerning the RTL8192CU adapter and drop-outs: the in-kernel version of this driver is notoriously unreliable. There is a whole forum thread under Hardware>Networking>Wireless devoted to alternate 8192cu drivers that work better. Concerning your SNS problems: PeasyWiFi never forgets a...

@ElvesBrew: There is now an 8192cu driver PET posted for Slacko64-6.3.2 (page 1, group2).

Regarding dropouts - there are some suggestions in the main post.

@Argolance: I don't have any experience with inserting another driver into the zdrv.

Please see page 4. YASSM has the same problem as PeasyPort - missing binaries.

There are many Belkin models. You need to give more information. For example, is this an F7D2102 or an F9L1002?

Run Menu > System > Pupscan > USB Devices

For your Belkin device, find the Product code, the VendorID code and the ProductID code.

The most recent mainstream kernels, like k4.9.x, have this driver built-in. Your adapter will work OOTB and no extra driver PET is requi...

Thanks for the above link. But I notice that several Puppies with built-in Samba were omitted. Was this an oversight?

I am disappointed that you did not give your endorsement to Samba4 Basic, even though it is 30% smaller and has complete documentation.

Here is img2pdf packaged as a PET. It is designed for Tahrpup, which has Python built-in, but will also work with other Puppies that have a Python 2.7 package. Download it from here. Click the small green DOWNLOAD box. The command is img2pdf.py *.jpg -o out.pdf If you are packaging JPEGs with differ...
