Well, let's see what is listed. Try this:

Code: Select all

grep "N: Name=" /proc/bus/input/devices
That returns the following:

Code: Select all

# grep "N: Name=" /proc/bus/input/devices
N: Name="AT Translated Set 2 keyboard"
N: Name="PS/2 Generic Mouse"

What output do you get for:

Code: Select all

grep -iEA9 -B1 "Synaptics|Alps|Elantech|touch" /proc/bus/input/devices
Forgive my ignorance npierce (I'm an old windows guy) but I assume you enter that code into a terminal window???

If I do so nothing is returned.

Problem with Battery Tray App - Slacko 5.3.3 - Dell E6420

The battery icon in the tray is there but it doesn’t show the state of the battery. It’s simply gray. If I click on the battery icon the following is displayed

Hello npierce and thanks for your reply. I added the code you suggested however it did not work.

If I'm not mistaken items listed in the "ServerLayout" section and "InputDevice" section of xorg.conf are auto generated each time xorg starts.

Touchpad - No synaptics driver loaded? Slacko 5.3.3

I want to turn off the tap feature on my touchpad but when I run flSynclient I get the "Couldn't find symaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?". I had this with my old laptop running lupu-511. The work around was to run xorgwizard from a command line which I guess forced the drive...

I haven't really tested it but it worked when I clicked on the binary.

Cheers.
Thank You smokey01, that worked like a charm!

Is there a way to PREVENT Fatdog from saving the session? I tried adding the following code which I found here on the board some time ago to the rc.shutdown script. It works fine with Slacko and Lucid Puppy but Fatdog doesn't seem to like it. dialog --timeout 10 --yesno 'Save this session? (auto sav...

Hi 01micko and thank you for your quick reply. I downloaded power_applet.tar.gz and expanded it to /root/Startup, overwriting the old one.

Unfortunately, after a reboot, no change. The icon is still gray and unchanged.

my advice is to stick with official releases - the current official release is Puppy Slacko 5.3.3. I just checked now, and 5.3.3 supports both your ethernet and wifi device ID's. I don't know about your audio, but there's a good chance that's supported too. Thank you so much tempestuous! I download...
