Yes, i've had good luck on several other computers, the ALSA Wizard configured the sound correctly no problems. This new one has the Realtek version of the Intel HD; the sound works within MS XP; the ALSA Wizard seems to detect and configure it, but alas, no sound results... i went thru the same ...

Minx, I run Puppy v2.16 on a Dell D600 from a 2gig usb stick. Puppy picked up the sound card, NIC and wireless with absolutely no problem. The only thing I haven't got to work was the modem but I really haven't tried very hard.

gxine 0.5.9 on puppy v2.16 often but not always play media files, both video and music, at 2x or 3x speed. MPlayer seems to work ok. Is there a setting or codec I'm missing?
