Request for addition of QT4-FSARCHIVER
I would love to use LXPUP as a backup method but I can't seem to get QT4-FSARCHIVER installed in it to use. I tried today on version 13 by finding a PET on a japanese website, but I get a fail due to a missing liblzo2.so.2 file. My intent is to be able to boot from the usb, use that particular progr...

Thank you Aardvark. I actually mad a stab at doing that yesterday, only to find that precise did not support my external usb modem (Ralink driver if I recall) so I ran into a brick wall there. But i will give it another try, perhaps on another machine, and let you know the result.. Thank you again f...

Well I believe I successfully installed the deb file referenced about, but I am still getting the same error. When I install crossover, the terminal shows this: reinstall cxassoc:warning: unable to find 'update-desktop-database' in '/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R7/bin:/root/m...

UPDATE: Well my old computer does not like Compiz ;-( Apparently time for me to drink some wine until you add something to the main LXPup that requires more python support! HMMM - I had not no...

Before I give up completely on running Crossover in LXPup, I started a tread over here in general to discuss running Crossover. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=765349#765349 http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=92650 The first suggestion (probably unhelpful) ;-) was that...

Using Crossover (from Codeweavers) in Puppy
I am having trouble getting Crossover to run on Puppy (in this case LxPUP 14.03. After making sure I had devx installed, the crossover install program seems to install ok, but whenever I run it I get: You seem to be missing the GTK+ Python modules. If this is the case you may try running one of the ...

Thanks again! I downloaded from there - thanks. It looks like I have shot myself in the foot by running an install and installing to a full partition. Now it looks like I am not able to use any SFS files at all as I am getting an error even trying to load the Audacious SFS. I can't remember the exac...

Crossover
I am having trouble installing Crossover. I searched and found a post that said that integer.pm needed to be installed, and I did that using the pet that was supplied here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=601735&sid=0d08378ba766f9b2bb43a726f0cde754 I searched the pearl directory...

Thanks very much for the reply - that got me going in the right direction. I was creating the hard drive in the GUI, but failing thereafter to use GPARTED to partition and format it. After I did that, the drive was recognized. I am now wondering whether there is any benefit to installing Puppy to th...

Puppy 3.01 Runs off flashdrive w/ Qemu but no writable disk
Using the description I found in the news page http://www.linuxpromagazine.com/issues/2008/88/puppy_linux I downloaded Qemu, set it up on my flash disk, then pointed to the 3.01 iso. ALL works great, I can get Puppy running on my Windows XP system without any problem, and without installing anything...
