Hi Fred , Sorry for the late reply. Got bogged down with other work tasks. Sounds like there's a lot of history, legacy, and politics in regards to the beginnings of XenialDog. In any case, many thanks to all those involved in whichever way. It's pretty solid. So in regards to the problem of mountin...

Fred , thanks for the suggestions. I think they've worked, and I think, yes, essentially it was boiling down to ownership and permission issues. That's basically what I thought, but I didn't really know what the proper owning and permission should be to set it straight. Are you the sole author of X...

Always log in as "myuser" and always ask for password?
Hi all, I don't doubt somebody has already asked this, and/or maybe this is the wrong thread to ask it, but I've created a new user with "sudo" privileges. Let's call him "myuser". Now I know Puppy (and Puppy-esque) OS's operate in "root", but in Xenialdog's case, is it...

Re: .debs In general, I would think that Tahrpup is Ubuntu is Debian. I know better now of course but most reviews I had seen of Tahrpup some months back when I was considering trying it out seemed to conclude that Tahrpup handled .debs well. The truth is that the authors of the Viber app haven't re...

Looking for a list of the "p" and "pup" apps
Hi all,
I'm looking for a compiled list of all the "p" and "pup" apps. I mean those Puppy specific written apps.
For example:
1. pupshutdown
2. pupmenu
3. pfind
I don't doubt that such a thread must already exist in this forum. Is anybody able to point me to such a list?

Thanks guys. So as I understand it, there could be two problems: 1.) Missing libraries (because Puppy is light weight and doesn't always include all libraries that a distro like Ubuntu does). 2.) Libraries are actually there, but this is a package aimed at Ubuntu, and Puppy simply has a different fi...

How to install Viber on Tahrpup?
Trying to get viber (an Ubuntu .deb file) to install on Tahrpup64 6.0.5. Nothing happens when I click on the icon after the install. This is what terminal reads. Sounds like it's missing this "xcb" plugin or lib, but what is that? A more general lib or a plugin specific to Viber itself? I ...

Lol Musher0. Can't remember where I got that particular sfs from. On the new (i.e. today's) installation, I also had trouble unloading it initially, in order to test it. I could only unload it after a reboot. Theoretically I can keep the Skype sfs and just unload it on the rare occasions I need to d...

Dudes, I appreciate all the help but I found the problem. I burned a full day building up a new installation, and I finally narrowed it down to... skype-4.3.0.37.sfs When I unloaded the sfs file... boom. The resize app worked again. Went back to my old installation. Did the same. (Unloaded the sfs f...
