OK, I have AnyDesk running on my Windoze machine, and also on Bionic64, and both boxes have been assigned addresses by AnyDesk. I did have a little head-scratching moment when I could not talk to it, as I have setup Puppy with a static IP address, but had forgotten to enter in the gateway and DNS IP...

Hello. :) Installed the extra PET you linked me to, and AnyDesk GUI is now up and running fine on Bionic64! 8) Thank you! I have no addresses, cos that is the only machine with AnyDesk installed at the moment, so I will install AnyDesk on my Windoze machine, and I think that will then generate the a...

UPDATE: OK, I am back in Bionic64, re-installed AnyDesk PET that Mike linked to at the bottom of the previous page, and it won't run. BUT, this time it IS there in the FS tree, and LDD does give me some useful information: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nmgsbbwfj3gemnv/Screenshot%281%29.png?dl=0 With the...

Hello all. :) Thanks for your continued interest. @ ozsouth - thanks, I will download that and have a play with it over the weekend. :) OK, I tried Mike's latest AnyDesk PET, which installed fine. Oh, BTW, before I did that, I used Puppy Package Manager to remove the old versions as suggested, and P...

Tried Bionic64 v8, but Windoze FLATLY refused to talk to it - can't even see it. If I put back in the Slacko64 632 USB and boot that, Windoze talks to that right away. I setup everything in Bionic64 the same as Slacko64, but it will not talk. I have no idea why. I suspect that Simple Samba Sharing i...

Hello. :) @ Mike: Slacko64 632 is getting a bit old, some others in the know have told me, and I don't know if that build is even being maintained anymore, so you have a point. I do have a copy of Bionic64(the latest one), so I might set that up on another USB drive and see if I can get AnyDesk runn...

I can't make this work. :( Download PET. Click it. Puppy asks if I want to install it, I click YES. Puppy thinks for a moment. Puppy reports it was installed successfully, and it is in the NETWORK group. AnyDesk Icon is indeed there. Clicking that icon results in nothing at all - no gui comes up for...

Hi all. :) Just a little update for you: Clean install Slacko-64 6.3.2. Configure network IP address to static. Mount partitions Terminal: smbpasswd -a root and proceed. Terminal: passwd root and proceed. Exit terminal. Reboot. Windoze still refuses to talk to the box via networking(is still totally...

Well, that has REALLY stuffed things up. ;) After having done that, no Windows boxes can see the Puppy box anymore, and OpenElec can't see it either! :p Oh dear..... :( I would not have thought it would matter, really, to the VISIBILITY of the box on the network. IE: The Puppy box should still be vi...

How to change root password?
Hi all. Slacko 64, 6.3.0 Run terminal and passwd root , enter in new password for root, confirm it, get back a message to say password has been changed. Exit terminal. Reboot. ...but new password does not take effect. :( Password for root is still the default of woofwoof. If I try to connect to the ...

Just a little update for this thread, and this will be my final post on this topic, but I thought Barry and others might like to know that when I tried EasyOS on another motherboard, there were NONE of those problems I had been having. So, there was something the Asrock motherboard did not like abou...

I tried with Slacko-64, and the standard boot-up dies when it tries to start X. It drops back to the command prompt with a 'Fatal xorg error.' and leaves me at the hash-prompt. System DOES NOT lock-up though. Xorg Wizard is trying to use an Intel driver(needs EAK), and that fails. Trying to select o...

No joy I'm afraid.... :( Same lock-up after 15 seconds or so. I much preferred the green theme of the previous versions. ;) I am happy to keep playing if you want to, but as far as I'm concerned, this board just does not like Easy OS. I will see if it can boot a Puppy Linux distro. EDIT: I will try ...

Not enough time. I almost get the first line typed in, but by then, it has locked up. I will keep trying to improve my typing time. EDIT: I took the exact same 8GB USB3 flash-drive, and plonked it into my Acer Aspire 1ES notebook, and Easy OS booted up flawlessly. Can still move mouse around and no ...
