Looking for a pet package with the Java plug-in
Where can I get it? Is it available in the PETget package manager? Is it available at http://ftp.nluug.nl/ftp/pub/os/Linux/distr/puppylinux/ (like xorg 7.0 with xgamma)?

How do I adjust xgamma?
Thanks for the help in obtaining xgamma. I now have it. However, it doesn't seem to be working the way it's supposed to. When I go to the rxvt console and enter "xgamma -gamma 1.1", I get the following error message: Xlib: extension "XFree86-VidModeExtension" missing on display &...

Thanks, jrb. I downloaded and installed xorg_BASIC-7.0.pet and xorg_VIDEO_DRVRS-7.0.pet . Where do I go from here? How do I change the xgamma values and then see the results? I have tkgamma installed as well, but it doesn't seem to do anything. (tkgamma allows me to move the sliders around, but I do...

Images/video too dark. How to adjust gamma?
On the computer that I'm using now, I would like to change the color/brightness settings. It is related to the graphics card on this particular computer and NOT the monitor. When I look at photos, Youtube videos, etc. using this particular computer, things look darker than they're supposed to. Navy ...

Understanding the file system (frugal install)
I noticed that the /~ directory = /root directory = /initrd/pup_ro2/root directory. I suspect that pup_ro2 stands for sda2, the partition I'm using for Puppy Linux (sda1 is the swap partition). I learned this by putting in a dummy directory. However, I don't see this dummy directory when I go to the...

How do I get the free memory display back?
I think I accidentally dragged the free memory display at the bottom of the screen out and then lost it. How do I restore this display?
UPDATE: Never mind, I booted up again, and the free memory display is back.

How do I automatically clear cookies, passwords, etc.?
I'm looking for a way to automatically clear cookies, passwords, etc. from my web browser every time I power down Puppy Linux. In Damn Small Linux, I was able to do this by adding rm and rmdir commands to the script that governed the powerdown process. This required knowing where these Internet file...

Why are two pup_410.sfs files needed?
In my sda2 partition with Puppy Linux frugally installed, I have TWO pup_410.sfs files. One is in /mnt/home, and the other is in /mnt/home/puppy410. This seems awfully redundant to me. Why are BOTH copies of the file needed?

Why is the recommended size of the pup_save file 512 MB?
I have frugally reinstalled Puppy Linux, and it's now running smoothly, and my settings save. I am using a 2-partition setup, a 256 MB swap partition at the end and a bootable ext2 partition occupying everything else. I thank everyone who helped me and enlightened me in earlier threads. However, one...
