Hi guys, I installed the 32bit compatibility SFS, and still get that error message. Ran it via QuickPet, the ibiblio server is the one that had it, it asked if I should mount it or install, and I said install. It said it completed the installation sucessfully. I immediately ran ldconfig, it only pau...

Thanks guys! It was easy enough to just wipe the Puppy partition and re-install from scratch, avoid any issues. Now the problem is; when I install Steam via the QuickPet, Fun tab as you described, I get an error that Steam is dependant on a 32 bit library. It popped up in black text on a green backg...

Where is executable for the package I installed (Steam)?
Sorry for another post so soon but I feel it's a different problem, but I think a very simple one... I'm using Puppy Bionic 64 bit. Using Puppy Package Manager I searched for "Steam" and just installed the 2 packages that show up. steam_installer..., steam_devices... Now I have no idea wha...

You guys are right, I just needed to try one and it works. I got the impression from the FAQ that I needed to choose a BIOS or UEFI version. Puppy Bionic 64bit installed and runs no problems. But now I can't work out how to get Steam running, mainly because I don't know how to find the executable! U...

Which Puppy for Steam on a BIOS-only computer?
Hi guys, could someone recommend me a version of Puppy Linux that would be good for running Steam and playing games, on an old-ish motherboard? It can only boot BIOS, and I noticed all the downloads of Puppy Linux on the main page have "uefi" in the filename. Are there BIOS versions of tho...

How to use wireless card WG311v3 in Tahr 605?
My version of Puppy Linux is Tahrpup 6.0.5. PC is a Celeron 3ghz with 1gb RAM. It detected the wired Ethernet alright, but there are a darn sight too many cables around here, and since this PC came with a wireless card in it, it would be awesome to take advantage of it. I found this Ubuntu guide whi...

Ah thanks guys :) The Puppy Linux home page says the best thing about Puppy Linux is the helpful community, and I can already see this is the case. So - between all of your posts, I managed to get there in the end! The key was; use Wary 5.5, and install Grub4DOS (the other grub option doesn't work)....

CD boot was ok, until HDD install, now can't CD boot
I'm new to Puppy, and Linux, but I don't consider myself a novice PC user and am at a loss as to how this situation can happen; 1. PC boots from Puppy Linux CD just fine, can use Puppy desktop 2. Attempt HDD install from within Puppy desktop 3. HDD fails to boot, and now also - CD boots but fails to...
