Re: Puppy on a USB stick

Does this mean I can neither try nor install Puppy from a USB stick insert in the USB slot in my Picturebook? It looks like that is the case. Fortunately that isn't the only way to use Puppy. You can also boot from CD or install to your hard drive. Have you looked at Puppylinux.org? http://www.pupp...

My laptop has XP SP2 on the hard drive and I am online using Dingo booted off an old flash drive. This flash drive works on every computer I have tried it on... well except for the ones that don't support booting from USB.

After watching tech support recover some data from a cratered XP machine (with Knoppix) I started poking around Linux LiveCD's. Live CD's got a little frustrating so I looked into dual booting... looked interesting but also looked like a lot of work. A flash drive Puppy fits the bill for me. Runs an...

Puppy Userbars

I finally made a userbar for Puppy that I'll use on other forums. Yeah, I find them annoying sometimes, but I thought they are a great way to spread the word.

Does anybody else have one?

Re: A 'Lawyer' responds to the locked thread

Except for the unavailable software, which means having two sets of computers; the combat pay and time wasted for having staff deal with shitty, half-baked apps, and the extra malpractice costs inflicted by having unknown software, and perhaps unrecoverable or at least untimely recovery of lost dat...

ttuuxxx - The sniping that happens here (and almost every other forum on the internets) is a little off-putting. I'm a born-again lurker because of it.

But, whenever I search for an answer to my Puppy problem, your posts have always been helpful.

Well, I'm feeling verbose, so maybe I'll go on a little more. :) Feel free to ignore me! I like using the SD card because the eeepc is so small a flash drive looks enormous sticking out the side. And by putting Puppy on the SD card that is always in the eeepc, there is always 2 OS... just in case. I...

Yep - to use Pupeee I press esc and tell it to boot from the SD card. Unless I do that, it goes directly to the Xandros OS Just found out about DingoPlus for eeepc (I'm a little out of the loop) based on Puppy 4.0 I haven't tried it, but I'm sure it works just fine too. http://www.puppylinux.org/dow...

Check out Pupeee. It's based on 3.01 and works well on a flash drive.

Except for changing ROX and JWM, you could start with Fat-free Pup 3.01 (based on same Puppy as Pupeee) it is only 62MB http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?search_id=297831404&t=26445 It is pretty stripped down, no browser, minimal fluff, etc. I added all the stuff I use including Fir...

There are lots of ways to use puppy, but the easiest way (for me) is to just always boot from the CD. The Puppy operating system can be loaded off of the CD instead of your hard drive. When you power-off at the end of the session, Puppy will ask you if you want to save your session. You can save the...

A little different perspective... I am using a 3 year old 256MB Sandisk cruzer I had lying around with a 128MB save file. It boots Dingo in around 50s, I gather this is an eternity for Puppy. But it is faster than Ubuntu or XP. Whenever I need to quickly check something on the internets I always use...

I have this mostly working on Puppy 4.00 (with a little help from HairyWill's links) and it is great... except the double size feature doesn't work.

Does anyone else have this problem, or should I try to un/reinstall Audacious?
