Yes with wengo you have to subscribe, but it can be used for the other protocols/networks also. Including AOL, Yahoo, MSN, Jabber, even gtalk (jabber protocol). Tried with Logitech Chat webcam
This one has a product id 092e, and needed the gspca driver. So I installed that, and xawtv still didnt work. I then installed Camstream, and then the webcam works.
I would still like to make this all work with a IM application like yahoo or something.

How to see options for encryption?
Hello, I cant see the options to turn on encryption. I have heard people saying that version .90 onwards had encryption support. Anyone know how? Thanks

I compiled the quickcam driver from the link pasted above, and tried running xawtv and mplayer, but am not succeeding. I have the Quickcam messenger (0x046D, 0x08F0) With xawtv, I get a black screen. I get this error : Cannot find Errno.pm on my 2.16 when trying to run a perl script that uses the Socket class. I didnt install the dev_216.sfs. Do I need to?
