Diego, I just followed the instructions in
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=25147
and typed the above samba command into /root/.xinitrc just before the last 5 lines. When I rebooted puppy3.01 my D1 drive on my w2k machine was mounted.

I use TextAloud from nextup.com to make talking books from ebooks. I'm using Wine 9.17 and TA works beautifully. I'm able to split the text files into 5kb packages and convert them to mp3's. TA appends sequential numbers before the file extension, ie: Wizard_of_OZ_001.txt. Each file plays for about ...

Hi Diego; Here's the command that works for me in puppy 2.17.1 both on the command line and in my /etc/rc.d/rc.local startup file. In puppy 3.01 it works from command line but not from rc.local. No idea why not. smbmount //DUD1/D1 /root/mnt/DUD1/D1/ -o username=dud, password=abc Notice there is no sp...

dotconfig for puppy3.01
Hi, does anyone out there know where I can get the dotconfig file to complile puppy 3.01. I can't get 3.01 to work on one of my machines, "tty error" and I can't get novelclient or npmount to login to my novelnetware6.5 network. I've managed to get puppy2.17 working on both these so I woul...

Thanks John, I'll have to spend some time translating those command line terms. I wasn't able to boot puppy on the laptop at all. I had to use another machine to get the new module into a pupsave file and then boot the laptop with that pupsave. I've been trying to figure a way that someone could boo...

Hi mdl My work situation sounds exactly like yours. Pentium3 struggling on XP. I managed to get a puppy2.17.1 harddrive install logged in on Netware6.5 in October by adapting Debian ncpfs and novelclient. I just managed to get the live cd working and have built a pet package which works on 2.17. It ...

Success!
After following the "simple" instructions, on the third try I followed everything to the letter with an unmodified hard drive install of puppy with developer package and managed to compile 2.17.1 kernel and modules with the 8139too PIO modifications. I booted puppy from disk, replaced the ...

8139too problem on Everex sa2053t laptop [TOTAL SOLUTION!]
Hi, I'm a linux noob but I've fallen in love with puppy! I have an Everex sa2053t laptop which apparently is incompatible with 8139too MMIO. I managed to boot puppy2.17.1 by placing 8139too on the "skiplist" but this leaves me with no LAN connection. The following link describes installing...
