Action Quake 2
Please oh please add Action Quake 2 to this pack. An easy to set up Linux version of AQ2 would be heaven! Especially if it included good LAN support. There's a not-too-bad Win version at http://action.marsmodule.com/ but I'd like to leave Windows behind forever. AQ2 is one of my last remaining ties ...

Can I Flip Display Upside Down?
Is there any way to flip the display in Puppy upside down? I'm using XVESA, but an Xorg solution would be okay, too. I'm trying to build an internet appliance and the ability to do this would save me a lot of grief.

Puppy Universal Installer Questions
Will the universal installer planned for Puppy 2 allow a user to boot directly to the HD installer, allowing them to partition/set up a swap before entering a full-blown graphical Puppy session? I ask this because of its implications for use on old, low end hardware. Computers with borderline RAM mi...

Oh wow...
I remember reading about 3ddesktop when I was first considering migrating to Linux. Thanks for making this available. I don't usually go for eye candy but man this is just cool.

While we're discussing window managers and environments...
The adaptation of XFCE to Puppy available via dotpup was a godsend. For someone like me moving over from the Microsoft universe, the GUI menu-driven adaptability is really useful. JWM is decent, Fluxbox is fast and I really like Icewm, but I keep going back to XFCE. Maybe I'm just lazy...but it seem...

XFCE
On a HD Puppy install, I perfer XFCE for the easy configuration. For a no-frills Live CD experience, I'll take IceWM.

An Inefficeint Technique That Worked for Me
I first installed Puppy on a 2GB HDD. I formatted hda1 as ext2 and left it blank. To avoid the catch 22 discussed earlier, I then created a small (300MB) partition for Pup001, as well as a small swap, for a total of 3 partitions. I loaded pup001 into the small partition using boot option 3, then ran...

What about Puppy PPC Port?
Could Puppy be ported to PPC? I have an old Power Mac that Puppy could work wonders on. I love OSX but its expensive and frankly a little slow on G3 hardware. I've tried several Linux builds on my Mac, but I've never found one that was quick enough for the old Macintosh and newbie friendly. Kubuntu ...

That Darn Legal Quagmire
What are you trying to suggest? That someone could actually become conditioned such that they think there is inherently something wrong with copying software and giving it away? If so, it seems logical to me. That's the way many proprietors would like to have us conditioned. Regretfully, I'm afraid...

How I Puppy
I use Puppy to resurrect old hardware... Puppy breathed life into an old PII desktop I pulled out of a friend's basement. I'd always been curious about Linux and tried several distros on it (Ubuntu, Kanotix, DSL, SLAX). I originally avoided Puppy because I found the web site frightening (Chihuahuas ...

Thanks for All the Help
Dear Puppy Pen Pals, Thank all of you for the knowledge you've supplied. Puppy is fast becoming my favorite Linux distro. The community, like the OS, seems very friendly and helpful. Bruce B, I promise my questions were at best well intentioned and at worst harmless. My comments about not wanting to...

Giving Away Puppy and the GPL
I hope this is the right forum for this... I've been using Puppy for about 2 months. It's amazing! You guys are creating something special here... Puppy's so good I want to give it away to friends and family who don't have broadband access. I want to distribute the Puppy binary and remain compliant ...
