32-bit UPup Cosmic Cuttlefish 18.10 (Oct 2018) [CLOSED]
I can watch iptv with bionicpup64 7.9.7 and mpv. No go in upupcc even installing mpv, libvdpau, vlc. I have switched the kernel to that of bionicpup64 7.9.7 which recognizes my intel graphic. In xerrs.log I find:
What is missing in upupcc?
LATER: in bionicpup64 7.9.7 there is youtube-dl which is used to play iptv streams. It is missing in upupcc. Allthough not solved.
LATER1:
Do I need ffmpeg with gnutls support?
FINAL: I'm able to watch some iptvs by vlc for bionic by festus:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=113309
I have compiled ffmpeg 3.3.3 with the following recipe:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/vi ... fmpeg.html
Mpv not properly working.
Code: Select all
libva info: VA-API version 1.2.0
libva info: va_getDriverName() returns 0
libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/dri/i915_drv_video.so

It now works for me. Mpv from ppa:

now works for me (solved dependencies with alien libraries).

Same here. I think that pulseaudio is needed for more audio options. But pulseaudio is not recommended in puppy. Only for testing purpouse I removed the built-in apulse and installed pulseaudio obtaining more audio options.Smithy wrote:Hi watchdog, I am only getting audio sink and default for soundcard options in your vlc sfs.Audio/Audio Device. There should be many more options?

Updated my +5 frugal Grub4Dos install on the Fujitsu S761 laptop to +7. Overall nothing adverse noticed wrt boot, connection, sound, video FPS, drive mounting, CPU governors, Sylpheed, Simjet 21.0.3.0 run-as-spot, etc. One quirk in dmesg, not previously seen or seen in the newest upupbb versions. First noticed in my update, then checked with a pristine boot. In the pristine boot I Set up SNS connection, firewall, and timezones only, which all go routinely, nothing new in dmesg. Make a fresh savefile and reboot. The SNS connection works perfectly, but I see this in dmesg:The first line is nothing new, the rest are. Replicated a couple of times, admittedly only on the i5. The /tmp/simple_network_setup/udevmodulelist contents look normal to me and again, everything I use works and works well. md5sum of the new iso checks.
Cheers,

updated +7 to +8 per my post above. All checks seem fine, comments there still apply. I also updated upupbb +20 to +21, again with no issues or major changes seen. So far, used for a day. Tax pdfs, docs, and a simple spreadsheet on a second identical but offline laptop, email, househunting for my sister and dinking around with my quote_of_the_day script mostly. Standard user-fare but all just working. The 32b Slimjet 21.0.3.0 run-as-spot from SFS continues to play everything I ask in both pups (I updated the 64b but not the 32b Slimmie yet).
Deltas used in both cases, md5sums correct on the isos generated. I am continuing to use the 4.9.134 32b upupcc kernel in upupbb.
Thanks,

Updated +8 to +9 on both the Fujitsu S761 i5 laptop and on the Fujitsu S6520 core 2 duo laptop. md5sum of generated iso correct, smooth update on both machines. Playing with HT and the fan on the core 2 duo, I needed to update the pmcputemp from the 0.63 built in to 0.63a to get the path right to get temps. On the i5 it didn't matter, both worked. The change is only in /usr/bin/pmcputemp.sh, the executable seems unchanged. Link here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 09#1008278 On most of the other pups it isn't built in so I have the newest (a) version installed and temps on the core 2 duo lappie just work. Seems an 'issueless' update so far here.
Thanks,
