Puppy 2.14 wasn't working out for me, so I decided to try older versions of Puppy Linux.
But I couldn't download a copy the usual way. So I had to download a BitTorrent client and use that to download an older version of Puppy Linux. So I downloaded Azureus.
But now Azureus refuses to run. I get a message saying that I need to have Java in my usr/java folder, but I don't have such a folder even though I do have Java.
HELP! Can anyone tell me EXACTLY what I'm supposed to do?
I HATE THESE SPEED TRAPS! Why can't the powers-that-be just let me download 2.11 or 2.10 from the same place I downloaded 2.14?
Why can't I just download prior versions of Puppy?

Limited resources, maybe? Hosting every Puppy ever would become taxing.I HATE THESE SPEED TRAPS! Why can't the powers-that-be just let me download 2.11 or 2.10 from the same place I downloaded 2.14?

Maybe the "powers-that-be" could be yourself offering to pay for space and bandwith to host older versions of Puppy.jhsu wrote:I HATE THESE SPEED TRAPS! Why can't the powers-that-be just let me download 2.11 or 2.10 from the same place I downloaded 2.14?
gees. Somepeople really think that Free things are really Free. They actually cost time and money from people that are willing to donate either (or both).
It is quite ofensive the sugestion that someone really wants to make it difficult.

If you look at the download page it pretty clearly states that the main mirror at ibiblio is of limited space, and as such it is impossible to host past versions there. And as you may have noticed, some people here can get a little testy if you have a go at Barry or anyone else in charge here. So you might want to be careful of your tone, or you risk getting a bit of a flaming. Also, your best chance at meaningful support can evaporate instantly if you piss off the longstanding members here on this forum.
