BionicPup32 Xorg Video Wizard

#1 Post by mgolden »

I'm trying to install BionicPup32 on my Acer R1600 doing a Frugal install.

Puppy Setup -> Graphics / Screen -> Screen resolution (xrander)

I select the desired 1360x768 60.02 resolution and click OK.

A yellow box is presented saying Change resolution to: 1360x768@60.02 with the only option being OK.

At this point I get a blank Xorg Video Wizard box. I can't even close the box with the red button in the top right.

After about a minute the screen reverts to the default 1920x1080.

Is there any keystroke combination that can be used to get the desired resolution to save?

What is the monitors native resolution?

In a console(Terminal) type:

Code: Select all

xrandr
Press enter.

Post the resulting information.

To copy in the console.
Highlight the text.

To put what you copy into a post.
Right click in the post input window.
Select paste.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
