It's a super useful feature of ROX. Not really hidden but I guess not many people get it at first?

I do use it when I'm on puppy.

True. I've actually run Puppy for many years before using the feature.

I rarely use the bookmarks menu.
I find ROX's "hidden" bookmarks, accessed through number keys, so much faster (ROX-Filer: Superfast bookmarks) .

The ROX bookmarks menu has some nice undocumented features. Left-click obviously opens the bm in the same window, but right-click opens it in a new window. Can be useful.
Also the bookmarks button is nice: Right-click opens the Edit dialog and dropping a directory or group on directories onto the button bookmarks them. No need to open the menu.

Just another mention on this. You can customise the names of your bookmarks like I did (see the image in first post) by editing the Bookmarks.xml file in /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/Rox-Filer

Why don't you use the menu?

I use the menu but don't like the default, full path names. Easier to navigate (for me) and looks less "messy". Also looks better when you insert spaces to give it a "tree-like" view with shorter titles.

I mean why don't you use the "Edit Bookmarks" menu item? In the dialog you can edit the values of the "Titles" column.

While you can easily enter Unicode characters via the "Edit bookmarks" menu , for the resulting Bookmarks.xml file ROX will convert them to HTML entities. It's not much fun to enter hexadecimal UTF-8 codes manually into Bookmarks.xml.
