Neither Firefox nor Gimp was in the Menu, but they both opened from the console.

"fixmenu" fixed the menu. I shut down, saving to the DVD, rebooted, and both Firefox and Gimp are on the menu. I haven't had time to play around with anything very much. What should happen when I click gtkam (in the Graphic menu)? Nothing happens now.

The first time I opened Gimp, it was from the console. Everything seemed to go all right, but left this residue in the console:
