Which version of R is in the dotpup?

#1 Post by acaza »

I downloaded and installed the R-2.4.0 dotpup from http://dotpups.de/dotpups/. It runs after a few tweaks (see http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=17826).

However, I'm having some internal dependency trouble in R. When I try to install certain newer packages, they fail because the version of R is apparently too old. This is an example, taken from R output:
ERROR: This R is version 2.0.0
package 'Rcmdr' needs R >= 2.1.0
The part that concerns and confuses me is the 2.0.0 bit. The dotpup is labelled as 2.4.0. Is it not really based on 2.4.0? Is there some little glitch that has R self-identifying as the wrong version?

Thanks
