KWeather or other similiar program
KWeather or other similiar program
Hi,
I know that KWeather is part of the KDEToys package, but I was wondering if there was another weather type program that would be small enough to fit into the Puppy "lifestyle", and that could be included as a Pupget package?
Thanks

u can always try this
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/m ... on=firefox
although you might need firefox not sure
this is a link for wmweather it should work to
http://www.dockapps.org/file.php/id/17
and this one seems even better wmweather+
http://www.dockapps.org/file.php/id/112
as I began searching for you on this topic I installed wmweather+ and recommend that you get this unless your computer is slower then just get
wmweather but try wmweather+ as it displays what you want

Re: KWeather or other similiar program
I recently acquired an Oregon Scientific WMR968 and, of course, want to see about getting it to work to the fullest extent under Puppy.guest wrote:Hi,

I not only want to run it locally but wish to post the readings online for anyone interested to see.
This app seems pretty robust but requires perl. What are the odds of getting it to run under Puppy, please?

wx/net requires Perl 5.002 or higher and Perl/Tk 402.003 or higher
to run. As of release 1.03, it will also work with Tk800 libraries.
Use Tk800.018 or higher for best results.
I tried to search for this info on the Forum but found nothing. Do we have the
necessary Perl, Perl/tk, etc. available for Puppy to run this app?

OK, Search on the Forum didn't help but poking around the dotpups harvested Perl and I loaded it. Then I tried to kick off wxnet ...edoc wrote: I tried to search for this info on the Forum but found nothing. Do we have the necessary Perl, Perl/tk, etc. available for Puppy to run this app?

I sam not sure what the problem is since I manually created the sdbase and wxnet folders where desired when I tried this the second time and neither way worked.
Sigh ... what am I not getting now? doc
